I’m frequently asked whether kids can do the Code Red Lifestyle.

My answer: The foods we eat on the Code Red Lifestyle are safe for kids, just like they are for adults.

In fact, I have thousands of Rebel Moms and Dads who feed their kids the same Code Red-approved foods they eat. The result?

These moms tell me their “Code Red Kids” are calmer (i.e. their moods are stable), and they’re better able to concentrate in school.

They have more energy, so play better in sports. And just like their parents, they often slim down (if they’re not already slim) and feel better physically.

Here’s an interview with one Code Red Kid and her mom. You can hear for yourself how much eating Code Red can help kids.

Rebel Mom tips to transitioning your kids to Code Red

The most direct approach, of course, is to put your foot down. I’m all for it, if it works for you and your family.

But you don’t have to go that route. In fact, for some families, a more subtle route works better. And it’s very simple…

…just don’t say anything! All you do is slowly switch out the foods you serve with Code Red-approved options.

Another common struggle for moms new to the Code Red Lifestyle is how to stop their kids from eating junk food outside the home.

There may be times, despite your most valiant efforts, that your children get their hands on junk food, like at a friend’s house, or at school. So what do you do?

First of all, don’t buy them junk food yourself! Keep it out of the house.

And take comfort in the fact that, if you’re feeding them healthy food at home, it helps offset the junk they may get their hands on elsewhere.

Believe me, every little bit of Code Red-approved food helps. It’s certainly more healthy for your kids than pure bull crap foods!

Plus, once they experience how delicious Code Red foods are, they may come around on their own. It happens All. The. Time. with my Rebel families.

Finally, remember that it’s fine for your kids to eat fruit if they want. There are a handful of weight loss mode approved fruits I allow, but if your kids don’t need to lose weight, they can have whatever fruit they want.

Heavy whipping cream on berries or bananas with liquid Stevia can be a delicious treat. So can putting Walden Farms syrups, caramel, or chocolate sauce on fruit.

Instead of cereal, give them pecans and macadamia nuts with heavy whipping cream (or a non-dairy alternative, like unsweetened almond milk), berries, and a little liquid Stevia. It’s DELICIOUS and crunchy, without all the preservatives and sugar.

One more thing: I get asked a lot how much water kids should drink. I don’t go there, because it’s a potential liability issue.

But should they be drinking water? Absolutely! Knock off the soda and sugary fruit juice (including orange juice) and switch it out with water.

Transitioning kids to the Code Red Lifestyle is easier than you think, especially when you can accept that it doesn’t have to be overnight; and that your kids even being 50% Code Red will improve their health.
