Why you have to get the crap out of your house

Back when I worked with 1:1 clients, I had one who struggled to control her junk food binge eating.

But it wasn’t because she was going out for margaritas, chips, and salsa.

She wasn’t driving to the gas station convenience store and rounding up chicken strips and beef and bean burritos.

And she wasn’t going through the fast food drive-thru for a cheeseburger, fries, and soda.

Her junk food binging came as a result of something else entirely: Proximity.

The junk food was her husband’s. It was in a kitchen cupboard.

And just because it was right there, she’d get into it.

Finally, at my urging, she asked her husband to hide his junk food from her. He agreed to do it.

And her binging stopped.
