When you take your pet to the vet, one of the first things your vet wants to know is: What’s your pet eating?
And when you get sick and go to the doctor, “What are you eating?” should be the first thing out of their mouth.
But it’s not, which means veterinarians have a better understanding of nutrition’s role in health than most doctors who treat human beings.
In fact, a lot of doctors won’t even accept what a vital role nutrition plays in health.
It’s not because they don’t have your best interest at heart.
It’s that most of their training is about medications, not nutrition.
And what little nutrition education they received in medical school based on outdated, harmful myths, like low-fat, “healthy whole grains,” frequent eating, and the food pyramid.
For those reasons, and many more, obesity is seen as its own health problem.
But it’s not.
It’s a symptom of a much more subtle, grossly misunderstood health crisis running rampant in our society today.
And this health problem not only causes obesity, it causes other serious health problems like heart disease, high cholesterol, diabetes, and even cancer.
Eighty-eight percent of the world’s diseases result from preventable causes, and this misunderstood and ignored health problem is one of those causes.
In fact, it may be the most common one of all.
