You ain't sleepin', you ain't losing.
I know – not the “super secret sexy ninja Hollywood weight loss secret guarded by 1,000-year-old monks in the furthest reaches of Tibet” that people waste time and money on trying to find.
But sexy or not, we all need to sleep.
Your body senses a lack of sleep as stress, and it'll hang on to body fat trying to protect you.
And reason you're not sleeping doesn't give you brownie points with your body.
Meaning, your body doesn't say, “Oh, you've got a newborn that only sleeps for two hours at a time? I totally understand. Here's a pound off anyway.”
Or, “Oh, your mom's in the ICU because she broke her hip? That's awful. Okay, three pounds down tomorrow.”
In addition to all that, your body also does its best healing while you're asleep. And it resets your hormones.
So if you're sleep-deprived–especially on a regular basis–you're depriving your body of that critical time it needs to take care of you.
There are times in life when it may be difficult to sleep, I get that.
But a loooooot of people are sabotaging their sleep, either by not making it a priority, or without even realizing they're doing it.
