When you feel like “the weirdo in the room” because you’re eating healthfully

During my recent trip to Miami I wanted to go somewhere interesting without needing to drive very far, because I had meetings later in the day.

So, I Googled “where’s the nearest mall?”

A place called Aventura came up in the search results. It looked really nice, so Hazel (my dog) and I climbed into the Ford Bronco I rented and drove there.

After we parked, I hooked Hazel’s leash onto her harness and walked inside, and let me tell you…

I have been all over this world.

I’ve been to Asia, Europe, Mexico, Canada…a LOT of places.

And I’ve been on some pretty high-end trips with some pretty high-end accommodations and some pretty high-end people.

But I ain’t NEVER been to a mall like Aventura.

There were three levels, and every single store was a high-end store (we’re talking stores like Gucchi and Rolex).

The people in that mall also looked high-end.

And get this…even the DOGS were high-end. 😂

Seriously, I saw a shih tzu – wearing a $20,000 diamond necklace – with its own security!

As Hazel and I made our way through the mall, every single person was craning their neck to stare at her, despite the fact we did not present as high-end.

She was wearing her service dog vest that says, “working canine, do not pet,” and I couldn’t help wondering…

Were they staring because she’s a Belgian Malinois (which isn’t usually a pet)?

Or was it because they thought I was a cop and Hazel was a police dog (like Belgians usually are) on the hunt for drugs or a bomb?

Whatever the reason, all that staring reminded me of how you probably feel when you eat Code Red around people who aren’t Code Red.

As in, you’ve got people staring, speculating, and in your case, making comments you’d rather they didn’t make…

Like, “When are you going to be done? You don’t need to lose any more weight.”

Or, “Is that REALLY all you’re eating??”

“Surely you can have just ONE bite?”

🤦‍♀️

Comments like those get even worse over the holidays!

Navigating a health journey in the mainstream world (which is all about UNhealth) is tough to do on your own.

It’s one of many reasons I started offering a free 30-day test drive of Code Red Ringside, which you can claim at www.coderedlifestyle.com/start.

Not only does your test drive come with a big stack of gifts to help you lose 10 pounds and start feeling BETTER while also eating rich, delicious food…

But you get 30 days inside the Code Red Ringside support and rewards community in the Code Red network.

Right now I go live in there three times a week to chat and answer your questions.

Plus, you get access to a community where you’ll be celebrated for eating healthfully (instead of mocked for it or pushed to cheat).

If you like Ringside, stick around for only $15 a month after your free test drive ends.

If you don’t like it, cancel before the 30 days.

Claim your Ringside test drive at www.coderedlifestyle.com/start.

(One test drive per person…if you try and claim another you’ll be asked to pay the $15 instead.)

Getting and keeping the weight off is hard enough without going it alone.
