Ever hear the saying that your perception determines your reality?
It’s another way of saying what you choose to focus on determines things like how happy you are, whether you see the positive or the negative in the situation, and so on.
Two people can experience the same situation and see it from totally different perspectives.
One powerful example is the pain of being fat, sick, and miserable.
You can use that pain as an excuse to continue feeling helpless, tired, bloated, and unhappy…
…or you can use it as motivation to take your life back from being fat, sick, and miserable.
That’s what I mean when I say pain is a good thing. It is when it lights a fire under you to change something for the better that you might never have found the will to change.
It pushes you to keep going, keep fighting, and stay the course until you reach your goals.
