When “getting older” ISN’T the reason you feel like crap

Recently I bought a doggy jacket for Hazel, my Belgian Malinois. But after seeing her in it (it’s too big), I decided to give it to Annabelle, the older dog I share custody of with my ex, Miles.

It fits Annabelle a lot better, but more importantly, Annabelle’s not as young as she used to be.

She doesn’t run as fast as she used to, or for as long as she used to.

It’s hard seeing your pet get older.

It’s also hard when you start noticing signs that you’re getting older.

You can’t eat as much as you used to without gaining weight…

You’re stiff when you stand up or get out of bed in the morning…

You don’t have the energy you used to have, or the memory you used to have…

It’s not fun.

And yeah, a lot of that stuff does happen with time if you live long enough.

But a lot of it still happens sooner than it should…

Mostly due to the “mainstream” way people eat nowadays.
