This is easy to forget (yet critical to remember)

“Ah, crap,” I thought.

I was in the sauna and finally realized I’d forgotten to take my hearing aids out…which is normally what I do, because the sauna gets hot, and I worry the heat will damage them.

(They’re plastic; if they were metal and I wore them into the sauna, they’d burn me like holy water burning a vampire!)

Yet when I realized I’d left them in, I didn’t want to take them out, because it’d be easy to drop or misplace them.

And let me tell you…

I will make a point to never wear them into the sauna again.

Not because it damaged them (although I don’t want to push my luck), but because I heard crap I didn’t want to hear.

It’s always nice to hear, but man, a lot of what I heard was super annoying.

I could hear people’s heavy breathing as they got overwhelmed by the heat and steam.

I could hear the “drip…drip…drip” of sweat rolling down people’s chins and landing on the wooden benches they were sitting on.

Hearing all that stuff SO well reminded me of something that’s easy to forget…

Everything has a flip side.

In this case, the flip side of hearing aids that work is hearing stuff I don’t wanna hear.

When it comes to losing weight or keeping it off, the flip side of taking a break from caring and regaining weight (which is what SO many people do) is that it’s ten times harder to lose the weight you regain.

The flip side of going back to foods you’re emotionally attached to, but that aren’t good for you, is the return of physical and mental problems you freed yourself from when you stopped eating those foods.

And yeah, the flip side of living the Code Red Lifestyle™ is that eating mountains of junk food and sweets isn’t an option IF you wanna get and keep the weight off.

Everything has a flip side.

The great news is, YOU get to choose the flip sides you want.

For me, I’m choosing the flip side of less acute hearing in the sauna, so I don’t have to hear heavy breathing, sweat dripping, and especially, risk heat damage to my hearing aids.

I’m also choosing to compete again in bodybuilding (in August), so I have another reason to stay on track with my food and training.

If YOU wanna choose the flip sides of:

➡️ Losing (or re-losing) the extra weight

➡️ Feeling better (physically, about yourself, and probably mentally)

➡️ Feeling comfortable in your own skin

➡️ Wearing cute clothes that fit

➡️ Relief from pain caused by foods you’re eating

➡️ Keeping up with your grandkids

➡️ Getting GOOD news at the doctor’s office

➡️ Having energy and focus

➡️ Feeling in control again
