THIS could have been awkward

Something kinda funny happened at the “looks like it was catered by Willy Wonka” party I told you about in another post…the one where I wanted to go facedown in all the sugar, but chose not to.

Other party guests and I attended the Idaho Steelheads hockey game. (It was actually part of the party.)

Inside the Boise Centre, where these games are held, you can rent these beautiful suites at the top of the ice rink, and even have them catered.

We played a game where our party host gave us each a few rubber hockey pucks. At the end of the second period, we threw them onto the ice rink, and then they’d pick one, and whoever’s puck they picked would win a prize.

Nobody in my group seemed clear on how they’d know whose puck it was, because our names weren’t on our pucks. (Instead, each puck had a number on it.)

So, I leaned over the rail of the suite next to us and said to the nearest party guest, a woman who looked about forty: “Do you know how this works?”

“Oh yeah,” she replied. “Whoever is putting on your party has the master list of what pucks you were given. If they call out one of your numbers, you take your list to the desk and get your prize.”

“Okay, great, thank you,” I said.

I happened to be wearing one of my Code Red shirts that night. She noticed it and pointed at the logo. “That’s the Code Red brand.”

“Yeah, it is,” I replied.

“I read that book.”

“The Code Red Revolution?” I clarified.

“Yes.”

“What did you think of it?” I asked, while part of me thought, surely she knows I’m Cristy Code Red.

“I thought it made a lot of sense,” she told me. The next words out of her mouth made it clear that she definitely didn’t recognize me: “I really liked Cristy a lot. I don’t know if you know a lot about her? She’s from Idaho and she grew up with nothing. She made something out of herself. She created this company and…it just really made a lot of sense to me.”

“So you thought the book was good, and you like the way that people on the Code Red Lifestyle™ eat?”

“Totally,” she said. “I lost weight. I still need to lose 10 pounds.”

“Well, you’re about as cute as you can be,” I commented.

“Well, thank you. I just like everything that Code Red stands for. I like the company and I like the owner,” she said.

“That is so good to hear, because you’re talking to her,” I said. “I’m Cristy.”

“Oh my gosh! I didn’t recognize you with the hat on!” she exclaimed, and proceeded to flip out (in a cute and hilarious way).

At one point we talked about those last ten pounds she wanted to lose, and in true Cristy form, I told her she had to stop shoving crap in her mouth that doesn’t belong there.

She told me she “can’t seem to do it” (as in can’t seem to stop eating the crap).

Knowing what to do but feeling like you “can’t” do it is something I’m talking about in the 21-Day Identity Shift (which you know if you’re in it). I also touched on it in the Identity Shift workshop.

But regardless, one thing that helps anyone keep the crap food out of their mouth is to just not buy it or bring it home.

When you’re a proximity eater like me, having tempting food around skyrockets how tempted you feel. It’s for sure easier to eat it than not eat it!

For that and many other reasons, there will be zero crap food at the Code Red Retreat. We’ll serve yummy Code Red foods for two meals a day, in true Code Red form.

If you’re used to taking a break from caring during “retreats” or other trips, part of you probably doesn’t wanna hear that.

Part of you probably wants the Willy Wonka-style spread I talked about in my other post…or at the very least, a buffet of food to graze on all day. If so, join the club. 😂

But that’s just not how we do it at the Code Red Retreat.

Instead, we’re making it easy to stay on track by serving homemade Code Red foods for two meals a day.

And these meals, of course, are included with your retreat ticket.

Your ticket also covers lodging, activities, workshops with Coaches, and loads of quality time with like-minded people.

If you wanna come to one of my Code Red Retreats in September of 2024, get your ticket here: www.coderedlifestyle.com/retreat. (IF there are any left. If you get a 404 error or it says sold out, spots are all taken.)
