During my ultra-popular 10 Pound Takedown Challenges, I assign my Rebels homework to watch over the weekend:
An eye-opening documentary that teaches them how the food industry and the government have bamboozled us into soaring obesity and disease rates.
These documentaries show kids, with weight and health problems caused by their diet, and what a struggle it is for them.
Many parents who see these documentaries end up feeling guilt and shame about feeding their kids bull crap food.
They either didn’t know any better, weren’t motivated enough to teach their kids how to make healthier choices, or had no clue how to even start.
The current generation of kids is the first in recent human history who are expected to live a shorter lifespan than their parents.
If we keep traveling this route of feeding our kids all the sugar and carbs they want, we won’t have anyone to replace our first responders or military. Everyone will be too fat and sick.
We’re at a “Code Red” level emergency, and it’s got to stop.
And it can, when we teach our kids proper nutrition, and help them understand the benefits of it.
I know it’s hard. Health care providers are trained to give us AND our kids a pill for every ill, instead of looking at what we’re eating.
When they do talk to us about food, so often it’s the bullcrap low-fat, high-carb government dietary guidelines that are responsible for our obesity epidemic.
That means it’s up to us–not the government, not insurance companies, and not the medical community–to learn a better way and teach it to our kids.
Kids are smarter than we give them credit for. They WANT to make good choices.
So if you’re ready to get started, watch my video below about healthy eating for kids.
(You’ll especially want to hear the part about a family in Oklahoma with an autistic son, whose health and behavior did a complete 180 after his family began feeding him Code Red-approved foods.)
