Any other great NSV today! Not trying to steal the show just sharing some cool things happening….. I love riding horses and anyone I coach to ride I always tell them to learn to ride bare back because you learn better balance that way and how to connect to the horse better.

I have to admit, I never learned how to ride bare back and have always been scared to ride bareback because I have always had balance issues. To the point that I actually have a certified service dog that helps me with my balance. 2 weeks ago I was standing on a platform at my house and lost my balance and broke my fibula.

Today my youngest daughter asked if I wanted to ride with her and I said yes but it was going to take me a bit to get saddled, but she didn’t have much time to ride so she said come on, Mom, you can just ride bare back and I will lead your horse around and I will help you, and then you won’t have to worry about the stirrup hurting your leg.

So I decided that I would try riding bare back and see how it went, because my balance is different since I have lost so much weight. Well I’m here to tell you, “DON’T GIVE UP ON YOURSELF.” You can always train your body to do new/old things. I rode bare back for the first time in 12 years and I did it with balance (which has never happened) and I also did it with a broken fibula.

I have now made it my goal for this summer that at least 75% of my riding this summer is going to be by bareback to build myself, my balance, my connection with my horse and improve my horsemanship.

Sorry for the long post but hope to inspire others to keep going and “YOU ARE WORTH IT AND CAN DO ANYTHING YOU SET YOUR MIND TO!” Love you all.
