A lot of weight loss programs, experts, and “diets” out there make a big to-do out of “organic” or “natural” versions of sugar.
It might be “organic” cane sugar, or things like coconut sugar or raw honey.
For that reason, it’s no surprise people new to the Code Red Lifestyle™ are often confused as to whether they can have those supposedly “healthier” sugars.
So let’s break this down.
The white table sugar you can buy in five pound bags at the grocery store is heavily processed. No question.
But the fact remains that processed table sugar, organic sugar, coconut sugar, and raw honey are all forms of sugar, regardless of what other nutrients may be in them.
They all trigger a big insulin response, and they all spike your blood sugar instead of keep it nice and level.
That means they can all make and keep you fat, regardless of how “organic” they are. Why?
It’s because of all the insulin they spike. Part of insulin’s job is to store energy. And that’s what fat is–energy.
So if you’re constantly eating foods that spike insulin, it’s gonna be busy storing fat.
And when your body’s always busy storing fat, it sure as heck isn’t gonna be burning the fat you already have!
As far as your body’s concerned, from the neck down, sugar is sugar.
That’s true whether it’s processed table sugar, high fructose corn syrup, or raw honey.
If you want to get your weight off, gorging on raw honey instead of processed table sugar isn’t gonna cut it. You’ve got to eliminate sugar entirely.
