Is eating healthy expensive, or is that just a food industry lie?

“Healthy eating is expensive” is one of the biggest weight loss lies out there.

And it keeps an exorbitant number of people feeling trapped and hopeless about being able to afford foods that might actually get and keep the weight off (not to mention lead to jaw-dropping health benefits).

This is exactly why you so often hear me say you don’t need to eat organic to lose weight and improve your health.

If you want to, then of course I support you.

But every day I have Code Red Rebels who do not eat organic, yet lose their weight and experience health improvements.

Losing weight is expensive IF you’re blowing your money on unsustainable fads, expensive shakes, powders, and diet pills, or trying to kill yourself in the gym while still eating crap.

But if, instead, you’re spending that money on real, high-fat, delicious, filling food you can get at any grocery store, then no, it’s not expensive to eat healthy.

Whether you’re a millionaire or on food stamps, you can lose weight with delicious $5 meals.

Don’t believe me?

Let’s break this down.

Bacon, eggs, and guacamole are a popular Rebel meal idea, plus an excellent source of fat and protein, with almost no carbs or sugar.

Let’s say the bacon costs $5.50 for a package of 10 slices, the guacamole is $3.49 for a pint, and the eggs are $2.98 for a dozen.

And let’s say you eat four slices of bacon, two eggs, and two level tablespoons of guacamole for your first meal.

The bacon slices break down to .55 cents each, so that’s $2.20 for four slices.

A dozen eggs at $2.98 comes out to about .25 cents each, so that’s .50 cents for two. (And if you fry them in the bacon grease that’s already there, you save money, vs. frying them in oil or butter.)

And there are 32 level tablespoons in a pint, so a pint of guacamole at $3.49 is about .11 cents per tablespoon, so for this meal, a total of .22 cents.

Your grand total for this “expensive” healthy meal?

$2.92.

A Starbucks latte costs more than that!

Don’t fall for the lie that heating healthy is expensive.

In fact, the majority of my Rebels tell me their grocery bill decreases on the Code Red Lifestyle™.
