Her doctor said, “you need Ozempic”…read why she refused

An awesome Rebel named Kathy shared this incredible story about what happened when one of her doctors wanted her to take Ozempic.

Here it is in her own words:

“This is the story I tell people when they ask me how I’m losing weight. I’m on Medicare and get my health insurance through an HMO. In addition, I pay out of pocket to go to a medical doctor who left an HMO and started her own Wellness Clinic. This doctor strongly believes in root cause analysis that finds the underlying cause of a patient’s symptoms and addresses those issues, in this case my obesity.

“Last spring before Code Red, I had my annual check-up with the Medicare HMO doctor. She firmly suggested Ozempic because my A1C was 5.8. She felt that I would lose weight if I could get my A1C to 5.4. I told her I wasn’t comfortable taking Ozempic due to it being somewhat of a new fad and lack of long-term research. The HMO doctor said if I didn’t take Ozempic, that I should take Metformin. I said I’d think about it because I was barely pre-diabetic.

“I went to the doctor at the Wellness Clinic and told her that the HMO doctor suggested I take Ozempic and if not that at least Metformin to get my A1C to 5.4 or below. The clinic doctor said, first of all Ozempic is not for me because I take Thyroid medication and have a 4m benign thyroid nodule that they are watching. Then she asked, ‘how many people do you know that take Metformin.’ I answered, ‘lots.’ She asked how many were skinny. I answered, really none and most have obesity issues.

“Then the wellness doctor said I needed to continue the course I was on which was getting my body working correctly without unnecessary medicines. At that point, she told me about Code Red. She said that it may help get my sleep, food and water in check.

“Since starting Code Red last June, both my doctors have been happy with my progress. My labs are coming back with improvements. My weight is coming off and my A1C was 5.5 in December. I go back to the doctors this month, March, and I’m looking forward to having my labs done. 😅😂🤣”

Wow, incredible story, Kathy!

Kathy is REALLY fortunate to have a doctor (the wellness clinic one) who wants to get to the root cause instead of just prescribing unnecessary medication.

And – not surprisingly, haha – I love that this doctor pointed Kathy to Code Red, because this doctor is one of the few who gets it about the root cause.

Here’s what I mean by that.

Even if you take Ozempic for weight loss, it doesn’t fix the root cause issues.

It doesn’t fix the food choices, the mindsets, the habits.

It just forces your body to stop wanting food (at best – at worst it causes serious, potentially life-threatening problems).

I get why people love the idea of not wanting food. I get it better than you think. It’s tiring to feel that food noise all the time.

I also know that ANY “fix” that fails to address the root of the problem – whether that fix is Ozempic, surgery, shakes, diet pills, diet foods, or even exercise – means you’re gonna fail and gain the weight back IF you don’t address the root.

When you don’t address the root, the “weeds” grow back as weight regain.

That will never change, no matter how many “fixes” you try.

If you really are sick of going around the weight loss mountain, fix the root instead of dancing around it.

Kathy’s addressing her “root” with Code Red (at her wellness clinic doctor’s recommendation). She started with a 10 Pound Takedown, and a 30-Day 10 Pound Takedown is what Kathy suggests for anyone interested in losing weight.

You eat real food, drink water, sleep, and follow a few simple rules.
