My team fields so many questions about whether pregnant women and nursing moms can do Code Red, I decided to film a whole video about it. (More on that in a sec.)
This is a touchy subject, because it involves kids, and I wanna preface what I’m about to say by insisting that, if in doubt, always follow your OB’s advice about your pregnancy.
For the record, I think your OB and I can agree that eating real food, drinking water, and sleeping will start your baby off right.
I also know any OB will agree with me when I say being pregnant doesn’t give you a free ticket to shove anything and everything you want in your mouth.
“Well I’m eating for two.” Yeah, and one of those two is your baby! Why wouldn’t you do everything you could to make sure every single thing you ate and drank was good and pure and whole and real?
Bull crap food is STUFFED with chemicals and fillers, and when you ingest them, your baby does, too.
Same deal with all that sugar. Blech.
Crappy eating also means you’re likely to gain a TON of unnecessary pregnancy weight–way more than you would if you stuck with whole, real food, water, and sleep.
Not only that, we’ve seen that women who eat a whole foods diet that includes lots of veggies have better delivery, better placenta, and better recovery after they give birth.
The bottom line, here, is that real food, water, and sleep are good for EVERYONE, including unborn babies.
I do wanna add that trying to lose weight while you’re pregnant or nursing isn’t necessarily the best thing for you.
In fact, Code Red doesn’t let pregnant women get a custom program until after they give birth and finish nursing.
Again, real food, water, and sleep are good for everyone.
But don’t try to lose weight while pregnant or nursing. Wait until you’ve had your baby and he or she is weaned. Then we’d love to have you!
So like I said, I filmed a whole video about Code Red and pregnancy. You can check it out below.
