Cocktails between challenges?

DAILY I see or hear reminders of how deeply the diet mentality is conditioned into most people (including me before I created the Code Red Lifestyle™).

Someone who recently did a 10 Pound Takedown asked about having cocktails between challenges.

On the one hand, I appreciate that she asked. It tells me she cares enough about her progress to bring it up. It’s also great she’s clearly gonna keep doing challenges.

The fact she asked also tells me part of her wants to go back to her old ways.

That crossroads between regressing into your old ways and staying on this new path is one we’ve all gotta face.

So when thoughts like this come up for you, ask yourself…

Will drinking cocktails between challenges get you where you wanna be?

Is it worth sliding back down that slippery slope?

Is it worth gaining back the weight you’ve worked so hard to lose?

How about how much better you feel? Is it worth it to go back to feeling like crap?

Or would you rather stay on track, get your weight off, and then use Code Red’s simple maintenance strategy to reintroduce foods (including an occasional cocktail, if that’s what you really want) without gaining your weight back?

I’m a very black and white, do it or don’t do it kind of person, so my answer is always gonna be to stay the course.

Cocktails aren’t going anywhere, and if you keep drinking them instead of staying on track, your weight’s not going anywhere either.

If you’re tired of circling the weight loss mountain, you know what to do. Don’t make it more complicated than it is. Work the Code Red program – as in follow 100% of the rules 100% of the time – and you’ll get there.
