This will drive you crazy

I get a lot of questions from Rebels who, even though they’re new to their weight loss journey, are already looking ahead.

Doesn’t sound so bad, right? Nothing wrong with planning for the future.

Except that’s not usually what’s going on.

What they’re doing–and what a lot of people in general do–is what I call borrowing trouble.

For example, Rebels who are three weeks into their weight loss journey will ask me about loose skin.

Their weight’s not even all gone yet, and already they’re worrying about what their skin will do once all their weight is gone.

I get why they’re concerned, but what I tell them is, don’t borrow trouble.

Let’s get your weight off. Then we can talk about what to do if you end up with loose skin.

Our minds like to worry about stuff that hasn’t even happened – and may never happen!

It’s how they’re wired, and it’s a survival mechanism to protect us, by anticipating “danger.”

But it can easily go too far, especially since most of the stuff we worry about (like loose skin) isn’t actually dangerous.

Don’t spend your life worrying about stuff that hasn’t happened. You’ll drive yourself crazy.

Focus on and enjoy what you’re doing now. Trust me, it’s a much more enjoyable way to live!
