41: Be A PRODUCT Of Your PRODUCT

Code Red, Loss weight

What Is This Episode About…

When it comes to entrepreneurs, people who have started a business, they run their own business, they run their side hustle, they run a company, whatever – You have got to walk the talk. You have got to represent what you are selling.

People buy things from people that they know, like, and trust. How in the world is somebody supposed to trust you if you aren’t even using your product?

People who are selling a product, is it working for you? Do you use it? Are you a product of your product? Why should people buy your product if it doesn’t even work for you?

If you’re running a side hustle, if you’re selling Mary Kay and you’re not even wearing any make-up, how is somebody supposed to buy make-up from you?

Nobody lectures me on weight loss because nine times out of 10, I’m going to look better than them. And if they’re lecturing me on weight loss or on body fat, they better be much leaner than me and they better have a lot more clients and a lot bigger company and they better have had tens of thousands of more people come through their program.

Whatever your area of expertise is, make sure that you are representing that openly and representing it as an expert. Dominate in that field.

As soon as you present what you are an expert in, you are going to get judged in that area of your life and that is just human nature. But especially if you sell that product, you’ve got to level up in that area.

Stay tuned to know more about my thoughts on being a product of your product.

00:00          Well, you could still certainly sell the product, but don’t expect to sell a whole lot if you’re not even walking the talk. If you’re not even representing the product, you’re claiming that this product can blank, but yet it’s not blanking for you. You know it’s not working for you and it’s just people are going to look at you. They’re going to, when you say, when the words come out of your mouth, this product can do blank. They’re immediately going to scan you up and down. That’s just human nature and they’re going to find out if it works for you.

00:33          I’m Cristy Code Red and you’re listening to Rebel Weight Loss and Lifestyle, where we believe food holds the power to heal or poison and we believe our society has been misled regarding proper nutrition and weight loss. You’re in the right place if you’re looking for some straight-up truth because I’m here to shed light on the lies and brainwashing that has taken place over the past five decades. It doesn’t go unnoticed how many of you are stopping what you’re doing to pull up this podcast and listen and I appreciate that. In fact, let me read one rating and review. We’ve got Clarice Gomez. She took the time on Tuesday to give us five stars. Thank you so much Cristy, the host of Rebel Weight Loss and Lifestyle Podcast, highlights all aspects of health, weight loss and more in this can’t-miss podcast. The host and expert guests offer insightful advice and information that is helpful to anyone who listens. Thank you Clarice. So very much you guys. I just really appreciate you. Without you, I don’t have an audience. I mean like you are the audience. Like what am I without the audience? I’m just talking to my own self, right? Standing here in my office, just talking to myself. I really appreciate and today it’s a little bit of a touchy subject for me. It’s one that I really have a serious problem with and that is you gotta be a product of your product.

02:22          This is going to ruffle some feathers for sure. What? I don’t even care. I don’t even care. Somebody has got to say it. Come on, somebody’s got to say this and I’m willing to do that. So you’ve got to be a product of your product or I know, but I’m got to buy your product. This is what I like to say. Now I say that when it comes to entrepreneurs, like when I spoke at FHL in Nashville, February, 2019 that was one of my top points, my top tips that I gave the audience of 5,000 entrepreneurs that were there watching in person of why I have been so successful in this company growing this as an entrepreneur. She speaking to other entrepreneurs. Yeah. One of my main tips was you have to be a product of your product. So I want to address that. But I also want to address, I’m taking advice from people who ate a product with a product.

03:14          I got a problem with that as well. So when it comes to entrepreneurs, people who have started a business, they run their own business, they run their side hustle, they run a company, whatever. You have got to walk the talk. You have got to represent what you are selling. There’s no two ways about this. You cannot look at people buy things from people that they know, like, and trust. How in the world is somebody supposed to trust you if you ain’t even using your product? I just recently had somebody give me these liquid drops to put in my water and this person said, you know, this is going to help with, you know, with weight loss. It really helps in weight loss. And I was looking at him and he was 30 pounds overweight and I said to him, you’re 30 pounds overweight. Like I said it, you guys, you’re 30 pounds overweight.

04:11          Have you noticed that this has helped you with your weight loss? Because I eat real food, drink water, I sleep. I don’t take anything except magnesium and D three and so how can you improve on that? How can I feel more fantastic? It ain’t even helping you is what I said. And it even works for you there. I said it right. I said that and he was like, Oh, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa. You know? Yeah. I mean you can call somebody out respectfully and do it in a kind manner, but that’s the thing I’m talking about. So entrepreneurs, if you’re listening to me right now, people who are selling a product, is it working for you? Do you use it? Are you a product of your product? Why should people buy your product if it doesn’t even work for you? I’m baffled at this.

05:01          I mean like if you sell online Bible courses and you out torque in it, the club, come on. Do you think that people are going to try to, you know, learn from you on how to follow Christ from your online courses and you’re not even really being Christ-like hitting up on all the dudes wearing skimpy clothes, getting drunk, being stupid. Really. You really think you’re going to be able to show those online Bible courses on how to be more Christ-like come on. You know, if you’re a life coach and you got three kids with three separate baby daddies and you got a restraining order, it gives you, do you really think someone’s going to buy your life coaching course? Someone’s going to hire you as their life coach. Look, I mean, and you might be listening right now, Shane. Well Cristy, you’re expecting people to be perfect.

05:54          No, but I expect him to be better at what they’re selling than I am. So entrepreneurs, you need to come into line here if you expect, well, I don’t know why I can’t sell this product. Well because you ain’t even walking it. You’re not even representing it. When someone looks at you or something that you do or look like or you are or whatever, and they say, I want to achieve that. That’s how it should go. And they say, Hey, how can I look like you? How can I run a cup of whatever you’re selling? Hey, well you can buy my product. This is why I’m so good at this. Or this is why I look like this, or whatever. Entrepreneurs, this is not in negotiable option. You have to do this. You’ve got to walk the talk. So entrepreneurial entrepreneur, I’m telling you right now, if you’re running a side hustle, if you’re selling Mary Kay and you’re not even wearing any makeup, how is somebody supposed to buy makeup from you?

06:54          That’s what they do. You need to look your best all the time. Wow. You look so good. Thank you. I feel good. And you know what? I also, I use Mary Kay. Oh no kidding guys. Mary Kay foundation. Mary Kay highlighter. I’ve got Mary Kay a lipstick on. No kidding. Yeah, I’m a Mary Kay associate. Here’s my card. If you ever need a facial or whatever the heck you guys say. I don’t know. I’m not a Mary Kay rep. That’s how it starts. People comment on you. You know how many people think that I’m a hairdresser because of my hair or because I’m an esthetician because of my face. Like, look, if you sell Rhodan and fields, which by the way, I love Rhodan and fields. I do, I use Rhodan and fields product. I’m not a rep or anything, but if you sell Rhodan and fields, you’ve got all this damaged skin, you’ve got acne and you need your face is blotchy.

07:42          How can you expect to sell? I mean, am I being too harsh here? I don’t think I’m being unreasonable here. Or you can still certainly sell the product, but don’t expect to sell a whole lot if you’re not even walking the talk. If you’re not even representing the product, you’re claiming that this product can blank, but yet it’s not blanking for you. You know it’s not working for you and it’s just people are going to look at you. They’re going to, when you say when the words come out of your mouth, this product can do blank. They’re immediately gonna scan you up and down. That’s just human nature and they’re going to find out if it works for you. Let’s talk about weight loss. Oh, nobody lectures me on weight loss because nine times out of 10 I’m going to look better than them. And if they’re lecturing me on weight loss or on body fat, they better be much leaner than me and they better have a lot more clients and a lot bigger company and they better have had tens of thousands of more people come through their program.

08:46          I’ll sorry. That’s how I feel. Somebody stopped me in an airport one time and they said, Oh my gosh, I saw you speak at FHL and like they didn’t, they were nice and everything. And I know that you think I’m being so judgmental here. I know that this podcast is going to be a gray area and some people are going to just be like, I used to like Cristy. I don’t like her anymore, but I speak the truth. So, but this girl said, you know, I saw you at FHL and I saw you speak and I love the team up with you or something. Well, I looked at her, she, I said, yeah, well what do you do? Oh, she said, I’m a fitness instructor guys. She was like 60 pounds overweight.

09:22          No, that’s not okay. That’s not okay. You’ve got to get your poop in a group before you can effectively. Why do you think in fitness instructors that are overweight listening to me right now, you’re going to hate me for this, but I’m sorry, you need to lose some weight. You’ve got to come into line. Why would someone hire you when they look better than you? You don’t even look better than them. No. I got people that if you saw like a, like some sort of a beach body product or you’re a Beachbody coach, you do those. I said genic shakes. I mean guys, I don’t know how people buy into that stuff. When you look at some of those coaches, they are sick and gray and all of them and I don’t know a whole lot of them but they don’t look healthy. Living on shakes is not good.

10:10          They don’t look healthy. Are you walk in the talk, are you a product of your products? Why would you take advice from somebody who is sleep-deprived and has big gray bags under their eyes and is losing their hair and have bioaccumulated body fat everywhere and that is constantly drinking caffeine cause there’s just a strung out and tired all the time. Yeah, maybe there are other circumstances but my gosh they’re claiming this product, this is going to help you lose weight. Then why are they 40 pounds overweight? It’s really hard to take advice from somebody who doesn’t look better than you who doesn’t have white. You know, I’m going to take skincare advice from somebody who’s who doesn’t have better skincare. I’m thinking to myself, I think what I’m doing is working pretty good here and believe me and the opposite is true. Like I know there are people I follow and I take advice from in Katy bar the door.

11:05          They look really good. They are way leaner than me. They’re in great shape. They have a much better knowledge base than I do about lots of things that I have very little knowledge about when it comes to health, fitness, and nutrition and the health industry and whatever they say goes. I don’t argue with those people like no way. Okay, I follow this girl named Tara online. She’s amazing. Do you think I’m going to argue with her at all? The girl walks around with six-pack abs after four kids. You think I’m going to argue with anything? She says no. She obviously hasn’t figured out. Her blood work is good. Her weight is good. Her body, that’s good. She sleeps good. Her skin glows. She’s happy all the time. She has a clear head. She’s not foggy brained head. Yeah. Everything she says, I’m going to be like, yes ma’am.

11:53          Oh yeah. Thomas DeLauer. You know it used to be a hundred pounds overweight. He lost his weight. He healed his body. Do you think for one second, I’m going to argue with anything that dude says. I mean he is spot on because they walk the talk because they are a product of their product and I buy everything he says. So it’s like, I mean these are people that I know like and trust, people that have built trust with me. But whatever you’re doing, it could be weight loss, you could, you don’t have to be an entrepreneur, but whatever you’re selling, whatever is going on in your life, whatever you’re selling. Like if you’re selling peas and carrots to your kids and you won’t even eat the peas and carrots stay at home moms. Okay. Cause you stay at home moms. You guys think, well I, you know, I’m a stay at home mom.

12:40          I’m not a salesman. Oh no, no, no, no. You’re always a salesman and you’re selling peas and carrots to your two and four-year-old. That’s a salesman. Okay, come on. That’s a salesman. Or you’re creating content all day long. So yeah, you are an entrepreneur. But if you’re barking at your kids all the time and you don’t even do what you’re telling them to do, come on. How are they going to supposed to take you seriously? You need to eat your broccoli. Well, mom, you’re not even eating your broccoli. Well, I don’t like broccoli. Well, then I don’t like broccoli either. How can you argue with your kid? Well, you need to eat it. Well, you don’t even eat it. You eat it then you know. I mean, I hope your kids don’t argue with you, but I mean that’s kind of what they’re thinking, right?

13:18          This can go for every area of your life. Whatever your area of expertise is, make sure that you are representing that openly and representing it as an expert. Dominate in that field. Dominate. I don’t have any tattoos, but I thought about getting a tattoo that says dominate, dominate in your field, show whatever that is. Just to remind me that, am I performing at my highest level? Am I putting out the best effort? If you work in an office and you’re an administrative secretary, my gosh, are you the best that you can be? Are you being a product of your product? Are you at a high level of whatever you do because that’s what you’re going to get judged on. You know, whether it be weight loss, whether it be fitness, whether it be skincare products, whether it be, you know, I mean, come on. If you have a pastor standing up in front of you, you know he’s cheating on his wife and drinking every night and being stupid like what?

14:25          What? Who’s going to listen to that? How can you, is it just me? No, I know it’s not just me. This is the truth that nobody wants to say. As soon as you present what you are an expert in, you are going to get judged in that area of your life and that is just human nature. But especially if you sell that product, you’ve got to level up in that area. Do you have to be perfect? Well, certainly no. I certainly have parts of my body that I’m working on, but in order to do what I do, yeah, I’m dominating in my field. Yeah. Nobody’s better at getting weight off people than me and I do walk the talk. I am always, I am representing Code Red even when nobody’s looking because somebody’s always looking, by the way, and that’s another thing that you want to remember it being a product.

15:14          Whoops. I just, one of my Christmas reads just found it fell down. Right? It scared me in the dog. If you are, and I just completely forgot what I was going to say, has real-life video. You’ve just got to make sure that you are dominating in your field. You’ve got to be a product of your products on whatever your expertise is. That’s where you will be judged because it’s just human nature to do so. That’s just how people are. Is it always right to do that? I guess not. No, it’s not. You know, we shouldn’t be judging. You’re right. We shouldn’t, but that’s what we’re going to do because why should someone buy a product that doesn’t even work for you? Why should someone listen to you when you’re not even following your own advice? Especially parents. Come on parents, come on. How are your kids?

16:03          Be the example. Just set the example. You know, don’t, you don’t need to bark at him all the time. Just let them see your example and eventually, they’re going to be like, yeah, okay. I hear it all the time with Code Red. People are like, yeah, my kids said to me one time was on Code Red for four months and then my 13 year old walked up to me and said, mom, you just so different now that you’re on Code Red, you’re not moody. You have more energy. You’re so much nicer. You just are. You’re seeing all the time. You seem like you just bounced when you walk here. You laugh more than you used to you. You don’t sit around all the time. You know you’re up before me. Like these are things guys, your kids totally notice what you’re doing. There’s very rarely a time where you actually need to use words.

16:45          You can just let your testimony shine, but I’m telling you right now, if you make a claim about something, if you’re selling a product or if you are trying to preach about something, you better make sure that your poop is in a group because that’s where people are going to look. That’s where they’re going to judge. Why should I listen to you when it ain’t even working for you? I got to think about that. Be a product of your products. Entrepreneurs be a product of a product or nobody will buy your product. Everybody else be a product of your product or nobody’s going to believe you that you’re the expert. You know your smoking is a parent. You need to quit smoking. You say to your little kid, Oh, you’re smoking. You know, I mean I’ve got a million examples. You know what I’m saying?

17:30          But remember this, remember this. As you go through life, remember to make sure that you keep walking the talk. You keep representing. If you are claiming you’re making a claim that you are the best and believe me, I make that claim and it puts a big target on my back and it should put a big target on my back. If I’m making some big claim, I better be doing it better. I better be doing it cleaner. I better be tightening it up. I better be doing it the best. If I say I dominate a market, then I need to be dominating that market instead of just talking smack and ain’t nobody even listening to me anymore cause they go… Just talking smack. Gosh, especially in weight loss. Nobody wants to listen to a fat trainer. Nobody wants to listen to a fat nutritionist. Well you need to make sure you blank. Oh really? Do you do that? Come on, I got it. You can see I have a serious problem with that. So just my thought for you today. Hello to everybody. Thank you for logging on. Thank you for listening.
