104: Are Cheat Meals Good? Can You Cheat On Code Red? | My Thoughts on Cheat Meals

What Is This Episode About…

I wish I had a dollar for every time someone asked me this. Can you cheat on Code Red? Because all the other weight loss programs let you cheat! So what’s the big deal, right? Well, the reasons might shock you!

Even though all other programs allow cheat meals or cheat codes, Code Red doesn’t do this. We don’t believe in cheat meals because it is not worth it. People never make any progress with this type of mindset and behavior.

The stakes are too high to have a cheat meal or, God forbid, a cheat day. We are dealing with people who are metabolically sick, people with type 2 diabetes, people who have failed on all other weight loss programs, or are just on the verge of a life-altering disease. This is about our health, we can’t afford to not be serious about it by having cheat foods and cheat meals attitude.

The major problem with cheat foods and the weight loss programs that have them is that they don’t address the sugar addiction crisis that we have as a people. The heart of the problem with weight is sugar addiction, and having cheat foods doesn’t help at all. That’s why we don’t do it at Code Red.

Click Play and hear the reasons we don’t do cheat meals at Code Red and how to get back on track if you have already cheated.

Cristy  0:00

What I noticed was it was one step forward and two steps back. People never made progress because they were always detoxifying from that cheat meal. And Heaven forbid someone actually have a cheat day, which I guess just spend all day long, just starting with crusties pancakes and then moving into pizza, and then moving into wine and just keeping the whole party going all day long. Oh my gosh. Well, it was one step forward and to step back, I wasn’t making any progress with these people.

I’m Cristy Code Red and you’re listening to rebel weight loss and lifestyle where we believe food pulls the power to heal or poisoned and we believe our society has been misled regarding proper nutrition and weight loss. You’re in the right place if you’re looking for some straight up truth, because I’m here to shed light on the lies and brainwashing that has taken place over the past five decades. Thanks so much for listening. Welcome back to rebel weight loss in lifestyle. I’m your host Cristy Code Red author, entrepreneur, retired professional boxer and I’m so glad that Carrie is joining me thank you sis I am so glad to be here. I’m glad

Cari  1:10

to be back glad to be back and Chrissy I peed and filled up my water bottle right before this started. So I am g g I am God can you believe that we do not have neither of us are currently today’s sporting the two new colors the code red has out

Cristy  1:27

I know we do at the time of this recording we just introduced gunmetal and Galaxy so we now have six water bottle colors to choose from we’ll link it up below so that you can get and carry look at how this one is suckers dented I dropped this sucker hard. So if you tilted you, you drop yours hard. Look at that.

Cari  1:46

I’m telling you I have dropped mine quite a bit. And let me let me tell you they take a look and they keep on ticking. These water bottles are except for I will say that when you drop a code red water bottle on a gym floor or whatever floor you’re on, it goes Yangyang, it sounds like a bomb went off. It sounds horrible. People look around like you drop the weight on a foot or something. So the noise is loud. But these things are tough. I mean, oh, yeah, mine is dented. Then

Cristy  2:14

I dropped them. It’s a badge of honor is like you just because you take them everywhere with you guys. I mean, that’s how you get in the amount of water that code red rebels drink is you have to have them in your hand at Walmart. You got to have them in your hand at church. You got to have them in your hand every time when you first wake up after you weigh yourself to 5pm

Cari  2:32

I love in the gun battle guys is a really cool stainless steel color. And the galaxy is blingy but not overly Blingy like it is just black with really cool sparkles but not just sparkles like they change as you turn it in the light like rainbow II kind of they’re really cool. You guys should check it out. They’re they’re neat colors. Our bottle guy Dave out of Montana is just a real genuine awesome guy and he brings Code Red, some excellent products.

Cristy  3:02

And the questions I received about gunmetal do fingerprints show up on gunmetal No, no, I didn’t notice that. Does it have a glare? If you drink it while you’re in the car? Will it reflect off and blind the other drivers and I haven’t noticed that either?

Cari  3:15

I haven’t either. I don’t think it’s that good. medalie we’re not talking like it’s not like my fridge, y’all. Yeah, like like my fridge. I open it. It’s got like, fingerprints on it. I’m like, Come on now. I never enjoyed my house more than when the housekeeper just gets there then I’m like, Don’t anybody touch anything because there’s no fingerprints on anything. I love that. And another thing um, oh, shoot. Oh, no, my mind. Oh, I hate that. We were guys so excited about guys. I have every Code Red water bottle now and I love them. Go ahead.

Cristy  3:46

I was gonna say something funny about Dave our water bottle guy. He He said the first sample he sent us because he’s you know, he said, he just put a real light gray on there. I said, Dave, you can’t even see my name, buddy. And he was like, I was going for subtle. I was like, Look, our code was subtle. They want to see their name my man. So he switched it to red. I think you guys are gonna love it. And

Cari  4:09

red is gorgeous. And I think that’s funny because subtle and Code Red do not go together. Have you seen Cristy’s Mohawk? She ate sport and a 1978 Bob, y’all. Oh, come on.

Cristy  4:21

I know. And I’m the one that has the normal hair. Today, I haven’t pin down nice and normal. But we are it’s probably a good idea cuz my head’s probably gonna explode after talking about a subject. Ah, probably a little bit of a conniption might. my school’s gonna peel back. I’m gonna have a conniption. We’re talking about cheating. We’re talking about cheating. And on Code Red. We don’t allow cheat meals or heaven forbid a cheat day. And we’re going to let’s deep dive into why we don’t allow that.

Cari  4:54

Yeah, I think this is really important because a lot of people that have purchased custom programs have done our extensive questionnaire. And a lot of times, I will say that during the middle of screenings and assisting Cristy with writing these programs has been super telling for my almost four year career here at Code Red, because it is very insightful into the mind of a person that’s struggling with weight. Now, guys, I was a person who’s I’ve lost 100 pounds on Code Red, kept it off for years after failed weight loss surgery. Y’all know this. But it has been, wow, to see how many people go to programs. I was doing code read, but I’m drinking a bottle of wine every weekend that was doing code read, but I was having a cheat meal or I was having a cheat day on the weekends I was doing code read. So it has been fascinating Cristy, to get into the mind of people that are trying to take their life back. Because what they say and what they talk about his some of it was very much what Kerry has done in the past, and some of it wasn’t. So I gotta tell you that we should write a book on based on the answers we get in that questionnaire. It’s fascinating to me,

Cristy  6:06

it is fascinating. And that’s why I love watching every I love reading every single answer that you guys put in that questionnaire. And the questionnaire that Kerry’s referring to is the one she might have said this, but I was thinking of my next point. I do that all the time, the customized, fully customized personalized nutrition programs that is right for you. For 997. That is not what we do for the 10 pound takedown to 10 per takedown is an entry point for $47, you spend 30 days with me, and you lose at least 10 pounds. But for custom programs at 997, you have to fill out a very detailed extensive questionnaire that’s medically screened by Carrie and I write them. And this is going to give you all of the numbers to lose 10%, right of your body weight 10% and 10 pounds are a big difference. So that’s sure, and I love them, I love them. And we ride a ride around to 200 a month, 250 a month. They’re really interesting because they give you an idea into the heart and soul of people who not only makeup Code Red, but the cross section of the American population that are struggling with their weight. And the idea of cheating comes up and I want to say it on almost every single wall on on almost every single one we talk about cheating. They do.

It’s funny because you guys are we as a human race, we are more similar than you think. It is very true. We are a bio individual, of course. But across the board, we all kind of want the same things. And when you when you ask them we we ask the question, why do you think you’re overweight? Why do you struggle with being overweight? At what point were you happy with your weight? A lot of times the answers are kind of the same? Yeah, it’s

Cari  7:49

big. It’s almost creepy. And of course you get the heartbreaking excuse me stories kind of intermingled in. And I just sometimes I sit and cry when I read these, even though I’m especially looking for heart disease and kidney disease. I mean, I’m just My heart is breaking, reading your stories and you’re sharing your heart with us. But Christie is right. And I have to say Christie, an overwhelming majority of the questionnaires, and we do a lot that I’m reading on a daily basis. Talk about not being able to stay on plan. So what why can’t we stay on plan? What is that? What’s going on with cheating? What is going on with cheating?

Cristy  8:28

Well, I learned this the hard way back when the code read about 2015 I got my own little office in downtown Boise it was underground in the basement, no windows, I had actually a wallpapered window to make it look like there was a window and I was seeing clients one at a time, I wasn’t very successful, because I didn’t understand the power of the Internet, and how to market and reach more people using the internet. I didn’t I thought everything had to be done in person. But it was still a very successful program. And back then, I allowed people to have one cheat meal a week. And I didn’t know what I didn’t know the program has evolved. And so what I noticed was because I allowed people to have one cheat meal a week, they would detox then Friday night, they would go out for beer and pizza, and they would retoxify and they would have to spend the next week getting that back to detoxing again.

Cari  9:22

And I do recall when I was first doing code read and this is back in the in the days when Christie was just helping me back when people would when we could do favors like that before we had before Christie had a real organized program. You know, I’ll never forget I was having struggles. And I said to Christie, I just have to have like an apple that by the way, apples are not bad foods. It was just during weight loss mode. That’s one of the foods we avoid. And so Cristy goes, well eat an apple and see if you feel any better. And I ate an apple and I didn’t and it slowed my weight loss. So it was I’ll never forget Cristy saying that to me. And we have I mean, we’ve come a long way, even since I’ve been on board, you know, we used to let people have Meo. Well, now we’ve shifted away from that, you know, we are going to more natural electrolyte replacements, you know, so so we have changed but Chrissy used to, I’ll never forget, she wouldn’t say it now. But back then we’ll go in Apple carry for God’s sakes, like just quit your whining, you know. And now our perspective has changed about eating foods that are off plan.

Cristy  10:26

And it what I noticed was it was one step forward and two steps back. People never made progress, because they were always detoxifying from that cheat meal. And Heaven forbid someone actually have a cheat day, which I guess just spend all day long, just starting with crusties pancakes and then moving into pizza, and then moving into wine and just keeping the whole party going all day long. Oh, my gosh, well, it was one step forward and to step back, I wasn’t making any progress with these people. So I quickly realized, and I was trying to be nice, you know, you’re trying to work with people. Of course, I didn’t have nearly the confidence back then that I have now. And at the time of this recording, we’ve had 44,363 people come through our program. So you learn a lot at that many people.

Cari  11:09

Yeah, you really do and, and let me just tell y’all something there’s nothing new under the sun. We’ve heard it all. Although every once in a while someone surprises me, but it’s always pretty much the same thing. I mean, it’s not like it’s that much different to be honest. But yeah, nothing is new. Cristy’s right she’s learned a tremendous amount. That’s why when I’m doing a q&a on one of the challenges pages, one of our 10 pound takedown challenges you can join us. We have them every month, people will say why does it Cristy? Oh, why doesn’t Christie I’m like, I don’t know what 44,000 people mean, yo, yo, but that means to me that she’s got the plan figured out. She understands how it works.

Cristy  11:50

And understand the client that’s coming to us for the most part, we are dealing with women. 93% of our clients are women in their 50s and 60s, there are people younger, there are people older, but that’s our that’s our target niche. Our target niche dairy, 60 to 80 pounds overweight, on average, they are knocking on the door of pre diabetic, a lot of them are type two, we have people that are having sleep problems, perhaps they have sleep apnea, perhaps they are on most of more on loads of medication, they’re not sleeping well. They have some sort of eczema, rosacea type of a skin condition, their hands and their knees hurt across the board. We have a pretty sick person that’s metabolically unwell. So that’s what we’re dealing with. And we’re not dealing with my nephew, Chase Carey son at 21 years old, who just wanted to have a pizza Friday night and eat it. No, no, no, we’re dealing with a pretty sick person. And so we were dealing with somebody who’s had a lot of failed diets, a lot of failed attempts at they’ve done Weight Watchers, they’ve done Nutrisystem, they’ve done Jenny Craig, they’ve done orangetheory. They’ve gone to CrossFit, they’ve done all these different things. And they have and those programs have failed them. And they come to code read probably their last resort before bariatric surgery. And so this is the person that we’re at a red level, we’re at a 10 out of 10, desperate level. So cheat meals, we’re trying to get this person out of the drive thru and into the kitchen. We’ve got to get them off all that crap, we’ve got to get their agency down. They’ve got to get their fasting glucose down. We’ve got a serious problem here. And cheat. No, we’re no we’re not even you lost that, like those days are over.

Cari  13:26

The stakes are definitely high Cristy. And it’s funny because I was speaking with someone yesterday who we were discussing their weight loss. And they were like, well, maybe after harvest season is over. And I’m thinking Do you not understand? Do you not understand the continued strain, the continued steps towards diabetes, the continued steps towards heart disease, the continued steps toward between that you’re walking towards joint replacement, you’re walking towards swelling, you’re walking towards inflammation, you’re walking towards a hip replacement and a fall. I mean, it’s not just waiting until after this or waiting till after that, or maybe after I have family over this next week. The stakes are high. We’re not talking about no kenzi, who was 18 and wants to lose five pounds for the bikini. Hey, Kinsey, we love you come to us, we’ll help you. But that’s not what we’re talking about. We’re talking about people whose lives are being severely affected by their metabolic on balanced current state that they’re in. So we’re not talking about just you know, make your ex girlfriend jealous. Yeah, yeah, we’re not talking about YOLO and fitting into your wedding dress. We’re talking about people who are metabolically unstable people who are at risk of getting a life altering disease like diabetes, the stakes are high. And if you don’t think they are, then it’s time to stop and take a look at your life. Because this is not a game and is not a joke. This is your life. This is your hands and your feet. This is your ability to have your organs function properly. So it’s important that you understand we’re not talking about Taco Tuesday, we take this seriously, this is your life. So that’s why who getting fired up crazy, Amen. Hallelujah, somebody, somebody stopped me now I better pause the recording so I can go down. You’re all sweating in your sweat on my coach shirt.

Cristy  15:28

You know, it’s, um, if you look at other programs, like my problem with other programs like Weight Watchers, Weight Watchers is on a point system. And that point system is based on calories. It is a volume program, it’s based on calories. So perhaps someone like me, I don’t know, it’s been a while since I’ve looked into this, but might get 15 points a day. And I can spend those points on anything I want. And if I wanted a Snickers bar, it would probably take up 14 of my 15 points. If I wanted a glass of wine that’s going to take up everything. And so they allow you to have those foods, those high sugar, high carb crap, highly processed food, alcohol, Red Bulls, things like that. But you’ve got to, you’ve got to spend your points on them. My problem with programs like that is it doesn’t address the sugar addiction, which is the underlining problem and a lot of people that will on Weight Watchers, I can have my cheap food, but you’re still sugar addicted. And that’s a bigger problem here.

Cari  16:22

And that is exactly what you described. Our Weight Watchers is without the surgery the exact same thing as gastric surgery. Christie, sure you have this much space, I’m making this up. But you guys get the idea. You have this? Yeah, you have this much stuff space in your stomach. Now, you can put real food into it. Or you can put Cheetos, it’s the same thing with Weight Watchers, you get this many points. You can put real food or you can put mocha cioccolato lattes, you can suck them on down, you don’t even realize you had you know, 50 grams of sugar. So it is the same idea is that we’re not getting to the heart of the problem, which is the addiction. And this is why this is why we don’t cheat at code read. We don’t talk about it. We don’t celebrate it. We don’t YOLO it. We don’t. But I’m back. We don’t do any of that. Here. We take it seriously. We squash it and we move on. And I don’t think there are a lot of programs like that. They’re like open arms. Betty, we’re like Benny,

Unknown Speaker  17:23

what do you want to do to make sure that you

Cristy  17:26

happen again? Sorry, Cristy.

I get so aggravated that the

funniest person I know and I’m on a roll today because that’s my electrolytes are kicking in.

That’s what they do. And you need to understand the power of sugar. So what is sugar? It’s a chronic, dose dependent hepatic toxin is not a joke. And we’re consuming 150 grams on average per day, the average person and that’s nothing. I mean, I just met with a buddy of mine that was consuming over 500 grams of sugar a day. And it’s a serious problem and it hijacks your brain, the brain lights up in the same area. As for a heroin addict that for a sugar addict. These guys, they’re hijacking your brain. And so when you are cheating, you’re starting that cycle all over again. It’s not something you can easily get. I mean, I tell you, I’ve told the story about going to Europe and making the mistake of having a croissant remember from that from the throat down the body does not view a croissant any different than a cake pop. Okay, yep, it’s Yeah, it’s all turning into sugar in your blood is spiking my blood sugar. It’s causing a massive and after that after I had that croissant for breakfast croissant with orange juice. Dear God, oh, I could think about workers. I could really hijack your brain. Oh my gosh, like it was not me anymore. I couldn’t think about like we were view we were touring castles in Rome and in Vienna and all these rooms and I just couldn’t stop thinking about food. I’m like food, food, food food. What am I gonna eat? What am I gonna eat? I was constantly hungry. I was never satisfied because my cells aren’t getting nourished. And it was awful. It ruin my vacation when I have crap carbs and sugar.

Cari  19:11

Cristy I don’t know what number of podcast is, you know, maybe our podcast guys will flash it up here. But we did something called the last meal phenomenon and same idea what you eat set you up. That’s why if you start your day with pancakes, you’re going to have a crap day Sorry, sorry, you are you’re better off just not to eat or have an avocado. I mean, I mean, you’re just better off what you eat in the beginning. That is why one of the big reasons we don’t allow cheats kind of just to piggyback off of that is because it’s never just a meal cracy it’s never just I’m going to have a hamburger and fries. Call it good and come home and then go back on track. If you can do that great. Like that’s a little whatever. But what Christie found and what we have found over the years of doing this and Christie’s huge amount of experience is that It’s never just a hamburger and fries. It’s like it’s a cheat day, selling juice syrup and waffles. And then the coffee was sugar. And then, oh, 10 o’clock rolls around, you’re hungry now. So it’s well, I’m going to make a sandwich and have chips. And then you know what i have jacked up this day the guilt starts coming in the shame starts coming in. baby boo boo. Yeah, to pepperonis Yeah, we’ll get the breadsticks and a liter of pop. And that is why we don’t do cheats at Code Red. One of the reasons?

Cristy  20:32

Well, that’s why recovering drug addicts don’t keep drugs in their cupboard. We are recovering sugar addicts, and we can’t trust ourselves with moderation. And it never just one. It’s never one Hershey’s Kiss off your coworkers desk. It’s never one four ounce glass of wine. It’s never one, it’s always going to be more you need to understand this. And so that you might be thinking to yourself, okay, what does that mean? I can never have a glass of wine again. No, that’s not what it means. That means that what we teach you in weight loss is to respect your body and give it good nutritious food. But when we get to maintenance, I’m telling you the maintenance program with Code Red is the most powerful program I have ever seen. And they disagree all the time. It’s incredible. We teach you how to have something like what we call an indulgence. And we don’t say good food, bad food, we have foods that code read to get you closer to your goal or further from your goal. But in maintenance, how do you have a glass of wine and not gain your weight back? It has to be done strategically. And that code read we have maintenance nailed?

Cari  21:36

Yes, it does not mean that you never get to have French bread again, it does not mean that you never get to have a slice of cheese. That’s not we’re saying to you. We’re saying Quit screwing around with your health and get this weight off. Be serious about it while you’re in the process. Be serious about it while you paid the money. Be serious about it while you’re in the challenge. And then we’ll show you how to do it later. Guys. Do you know what one of the most powerful things that someone said to me and now I use for myself is and I’ve said this to Christie before is that when I feel like cheating when I am in weight loss mode or when I have been in weight loss mode in the past, is I say to myself, like I look at that food. Let’s say cotton candy. For instance, a lot of I always laugh because a lot of people on Christmas pages are like sugar. Yuck. Hey, I will go facedown in a bowl of m&ms right now. Okay, so I don’t because I don’t have them at my house. And I don’t because that doesn’t meet up with my goals right now. But whatever. I’m proud of y’all that are like, I don’t even know how they get it in their mouth washed

Unknown Speaker  22:36

out.

Cari  22:39

Yeah, but anyways, does it smell good? Yeah. Smells good. Yeah, if if Cinnamon doesn’t sound good to you, or does it smell good to you, then you need to have something checked in your brain. But anyway, um, I look at that item, Chrissy. And I say, I know exactly what that tastes like. And for those of you that are listening, I’m pointing to my hand. I know exactly what that tastes like. And you know what, I can have that taste again. And those never actually did me any good. They didn’t get me far in my process. And so if you can look at the item that you’re wanting to cheat with and tell yourself, you will know what cotton candy tastes like, you will know what m&ms tastes like, you know what Kraft macaroni and cheese tastes like? It’s okay. You know what it tastes like you’ve had that taste.

Unknown Speaker  23:24

And you can have that taste again,

Cari  23:25

just not right now. And if you can kind of keep that in mind that, to me has been very powerful. It’s not like an undo. It’s not like I’m an Austria with Christie, and I met a beautiful, beautiful sandwich shopper, and I did some kind of ham from somewhere that I’ve never tasted or some kind of exotic cheese, y’all I know what this crap tastes like.

Cristy  23:48

And you need to understand that you ain’t never going back to your old ways that those ways have done your health no good. And you know, it’s not the food. It’s the behavior. It’s the mindset. It’s Yeah, we’re looking at things. You know, if you, you want to look at food really truly as fuel, you might want to put this in my body. I know if I have a bear claw from the Krispy Kreme container. What’s that cupboard at the bronze station and horseland Yeah, it with a little bag and you get a little tongs and you pull it out of there if I had that which I do not I but if I do, I will get a headache and somebody might see me heaven forbid, and I’m not going to feel any better. I’m going to get tired. I’m gonna get crabby with miles I’m gonna get I’m gonna it’s gonna send me on a deck and that’s what code rebels learn. Yes they can but they choose not to because the way that it makes us feel so bad. Yes.

Cari  24:38

And Chrissy if I asked you right now what is a bear claw tastes like you could close your eyes and imagine what a bear claw tell you exactly what the what the crusty part with the dopey part tastes like you know exactly. You had that taste. It’s okay. You couldn’t have it again someday if you really really want it. But the fact is the and the other thing is Cristy is that I feel like cheating. sets you up not only like eating the crusties pancakes in the morning or having the waffle, I just feel like it. It changes your mindset. It changed your commitment. And I also feel like the reason that we don’t let these things on our pages and we don’t have big discussions about them. Is it sort of disrespectful to other people? You know, I feel like there are people, I’m trying to think of who’s lost a lot of weight on code read that I can mention like I be a cuff. She’s lost 100 pounds. Okay, Cristy mentioned Horseshoe Bend. That reminds me of Nick gibbler, Nick gibbler, Nick gibbler lives in Horseshoe Bend. And let’s say that Cristy gets that bear climb Cristy can she’s not in weight loss mode, she can have a bear claw. If she wants, that’s fine, if that’s your plan. And Cristy gets that bear claw. And Nick sees her and how much weight has like Nick lost 154 pounds, 254 pounds, Nick is lost. And he looks at Christine that and he says, dang, I’m working so hard to lose this weight. And he still has probably a little bit more that he wants to lose. And it’s disrespectful to the people that are working so hard. That’s why Cristy and I don’t do that. That is why you aren’t gonna see me on Instagram with with crap bags of food. Because it’s disrespectful to those of you that we know are working so hard to lose your weight. Plus, we don’t need that crap in our bodies. It’s poison. But other than that, it’s disrespectful. So you get off track. I think it changes your mindset. And it kind of goes me to the weight loss process. And we got people that are Christie that are busting their high knees every day to get to goal. I don’t want to disrespect those people on took out a loan borrow against their college. I had a person that had to use five credit cards to get a custom program. And that’s fine. That’s their situation. That was their choice. I didn’t I just invoice them for five invoices. And then they paid with five different cards. I think they use some gift cards. That’s fine. But to that lady to me to be like Yum, yum bear claw YOLO bag of Doritos and a coke. What am I saying to the rebel community? What am I saying to that lady that had to take out a loan

Cristy  27:10

piston on him. You guys know him.

You’re saying Well, whatever,

Unknown Speaker  27:13

I

Cari  27:13

lost my weight, whatever it is, I won’t do it. I won’t do it. And I won’t disrespect those of you that I know that are rebels that are listening to me right now that are working so hard to lose your weight. And that is why that’s another reason why we don’t let cheap meals in.

Cristy  27:27

You know, Carrie and I a couple of years ago, it’s been a couple years now went but before COVID went to Turks and Caicos and it was always been a dream of mine to go to Turks and Caicos and it was a long flight and I took Carrie and we did kind of a sister strip slash working trip. And we we were Helen gone from Cartagena. We what movie is that from? Yeah, yeah, Romancing the Stone. Thank you. Thank you darlin. You are Helen God from carta. haina. Yeah. Nobody knew was there. Nobody would have ever known of anything we were eating. We were I think we were posting on social media, but not a whole lot. I think we were kind of we were still working. But we still I’m amazed that us because Carrie, if anything, we could have gotten away with anything quote unquote. We could have done it then. And we still didn’t we did or we took we ate one big breakfast. And then our if we ate it all in the afternoon, which I still I think we had a small note meal that we bought from the grocery store. When we got there. I brought it with me Cristy beat me by the way, I just want everyone to know that Christie made fun because I brought chia and flax too. And I will never make fun again because I was so smart. I know. It was fun was so smart. And we ate we ate the second. I’m telling you, we drink our water. We did a routine and we had such a great time. And we still we had every opportunity in the world to eat anything we wanted and nobody would ever know. But we didn’t because we respect and honor ourselves and our lifestyle more than that.

Cari  28:54

And I just want you all to know this breakfast buffet was it was out of bounds It was like Hello Miss Cristy would you like an extra croissant? No, I don’t need any Thank you. The bacon and eggs are over here. You know the the you know the veggies were over here. You can make any kind of omelet. It was so much fun. But it was like would you like a free alcoholic drink? No, no, we’re good. Thank you, Christine, our embeded five like everyone’s like bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, hey, we’re like taking our watching guy’s grocery games going to sleep. If you’re looking for a real party, kind of Turks and Caicos trip you do want to come with us. We are up at 530 every morning in the gym. But that’s because that is because Cristy and I not only respect our own bodies, and we want to have clothes to wear home because they fit. But number two because we care about you. We care about you as rebels, we care about the money you’ve invested into Cristy’s company, we care about you as individuals, as friends, as clients as rebels, and so we respect you enough not to make that a part of our life. And also we respect The process you’re in. And so if we let people cheat, if we say yeah YOLO I hope you enjoyed your wine. Sal, Leon’s glad you’re back. What are we saying to the other people?

Cristy  30:11

Yeah, we’re definitely weakening the brand. If we were to let that happen, it’s okay. You can lose weight. And I have to tell you, Cristy, I am always impressed with the rebels. That grind that grind it out. They don’t cheat. They don’t talk about it. They are serious. They’ve spent the money, they have skin in the game. They have health issues at stake. They have debilitating rheumatoid arthritis. They have debilitating, other autoimmune disorders that are getting better with eating right. And they just do it. They do it. I’ll tell you, those the people I have a lot of respect for not a nibble, not a bite. Get it done. lose the weight. I’m telling you, I respect those people. Will a couple of our coaches were in those situations. I’m telling you those people just like I’m like, oh, like Wayne and Garth. We’re not worthy. We’re not worthy. I mean, that’s how I feel. People that just keep grindin Abby a cuff man.

How much?

Unknown Speaker  31:08

Boom. Just going through Lisa,

Cari  31:11

Jasmine Shaw. How much did that bashall lose one of our new coasters like 130 pounds. Ooh, 161 pounds. Do it here. garter lane. Don’t whine, get it done. Don’t cheat. And you can lose weight and not cheat. Yes, you can.

Unknown Speaker  31:29

You don’t have to have a

Cari  31:30

big glob of, you know, jelly and peanut butter before you go to bed. I only say in this stuff, because I know it you guys. If you think that I don’t understand this, I like to introduce you. Hello, I’d like to introduce you 260 pound Carrie. Hello, nice to meet you. She gets it. So I get it. Trust me,

Cristy  31:47

you got to realize that for all those years and decades, you have beat up and abused your body and those guys are over. You ain’t ever going back to your old ways you are not this truly is a lifestyle change. And it just doesn’t include junk food. We don’t include junk food. And I’m the corporate lifestyle we believe in eating as close to the human diet is possible. You know, if you put a chimpanzee in a zoo, you’re not going to feed the chimp Pop Tarts and lean cuisines you’re gonna feed that chimp something that’s close to its native diet. Same thing with with humans, because we are now living in the zoo. Because we’ve left our habitat we were now in kind of an urbanized environment where we’re sitting under fluorescent lights. We’re not living close to where we were created. We’re not living that lifestyle anymore, but we need you. And we believe in the proper human diet at Code Red, and that does not include pop tarts.

Cari  32:36

I have to tell you, I wasn’t going to bring it up. But I think it’d be good for the podcast. Hmm, Lord, forgive me in advance. So I had someone close to my family. I’m not gonna say who and I’m not gonna give any identifying details, contact me about doing a challenge. And of course, the first little bit of the challenge, everybody’s fired up, you lose, you know, you lose a goodly amount of weight. This is a toxins. This is water weight. This is real. Wait, don’t discount it. It’s awesome amount of weight. And I checked in with this person every day, which I normally don’t do. That’s not part of my job. But I was being kind. And the last time I checked in, I didn’t hear anything back. Which by the way, hey, guess what, Cristy and I aren’t stupid. Like, we get it. We know what you’re doing. You’re not hiding from us, like whatever. And I will never contact you. Again. If you ask for my help, and I help you and you don’t get back to me. I’ll never contact you again. Because that’s not how I roll. I’m not begging anybody to lose weight. And I don’t care. I love you unconditionally at any at any weight. That’s not my issue. But yeah, you were desperate. You were crying a couple days ago. And then I see pictures posted of a trip they went on. Yeah, text me who this is Chrissy and then like, you know, the pictures, I’m gonna back up to show you this like, like, okay, like this is I’m gonna use my iPods. But like, you know how they focus on this and then you’re kind of blurry in the background. So like ice cream, you know, the pictures, the Instagram pictures where they’re like, we stopped here. You know, famous heiresses drinks. And I’m like, Oh, my gosh. And I sat there and I thought, either you want to do this or you don’t. Can you go on a trip? Yes. Can you go on a cruise? Yes. Can you go to Europe? Yes, I’ve seen Christie do it time and time again. And you can continue to lose weight. You just got to get your priorities straight. You got to get your priorities straight. And I’m, I’m speaking to Carrie Thompson. As much as I’m speaking anybody else. I have watched Christie go to Europe. Time and time again. I have watched her come home skinnier than when she left looking leaner, because her priorities are straight. So don’t give me this bull crap about I just planned to go on a trip with them friends,

Unknown Speaker  34:57

sisters cruise 2022

Cari  35:01

It doesn’t mean you have to shove crap in your mouth. And I was so disappointed Cristy. I don’t know why I’m disappointed because it happens all the time. Cristy, I don’t know why I allow myself to be so that I’m disappointed in myself for being disappointed. And I was gonna tell you about it but and I wasn’t even gonna bring it up, but I saw that cheating and I thought, yeah, okay, it didn’t hurt bad enough. No, right, ready. They weren’t really quite as desperate as they seemed when they cried and said, I’ll do anything. Right. Oh my god, I’m ordering the cookbook. You don’t have to order the cookbook. Just don’t eat the crap. You don’t have to order our custom program. No, no, you don’t even have to do that. Just don’t eat popsicles from that famous popsicle place. That’s all I’m saying. Have your priorities straight. And again, this is why we don’t let any because I can tell you what’s going on with that person right now is that they’re embarrassed and they’re ashamed. There’s no shame. There’s no judgment. There’s embarrassment. My heart is hurt. But Christie, now they’re not going to reach out to me because they’re embarrassed. And that’s too bad because I don’t judge y’all. I’ve cheated. Plenty. How do you think I got to be as fat as I was? So you know, and I still struggle with it from time to time. But what I’m trying to say is then they won’t move forward. So cheating does you no good. It makes you feel crappy. In the moment when you’re swallowing that food. Yeah, you have an endorphin rush and dopamine hit a Chrissy in the end. You don’t talk to someone who cares about you. You don’t get back in the challenge. You stop drinking your water. They stop they park at the point of their pain. They park at the point their pain and they say you don’t get it. Carrie, you don’t get it. This is a special trip that I have planned a year ago. You don’t get it? You don’t understand. You don’t understand. My husband wants me to eat with him at seven o’clock at night. You don’t understand? You’re right. I don’t get it. I don’t get it sitting here at a size eight when I was a size 24 You’re right. I don’t get it. I don’t get what it’s like to sacrifice to lose weight. You’re right. So cheating is never never worth it. But if you have cheated, please let me encourage you to get back on track to this person that reached out to me, let me encourage you to get back on track. And to those of you that have cheated, don’t let it become a cheat month. Right. Don’t turn around and go the right way. Just turn right.

Cristy  37:12

And we’ve done many I’ve done many especially lately podcast on the shame of gaining your way back when hitting hard ground versus hitting concrete, a man a good weight regain. And we asked I’ve got over 100 podcasts out right now at the time of this. So there are plenty like a third of them are about this. So there’s plenty of help out there for you. You don’t have to buy $1,000 customized program to do an about face and come back. Yeah, stop the hemorrhaging right now. Yes, yes. 30 pounds. It’s just that you don’t remain here for the next 30 4060 years. Just because you’re full of shame.

Cari  37:49

It doesn’t have to be regained everything and then some How many times have I ever seen that Christiana, an email. Carrie, I’m back. I’ve regained everything. And then some, if you would reach out when it first happens, days when I’m struggling, I reached out to Christie. And she’s like, where are you? What’s the damage? Okay, let’s stop it right now. You know, and, and Cristy was going through a horrible emotional thing. And she got on the phone with me. And she was like, all I want to do is make some pancakes. And I was like, who put down two pancakes. I get it, we’re all gonna struggle with cheating. It is a struggle. But let me just tell you from years of experience, that 100 pounds of weight loss and the 1000s of people that Cristy’s have worked with, we’re just telling you, it’s not worth it. It’s way better to never do it. It’s better to have you know, to never do it than have to make up for it. But if you did it, we want you back. That’s my main message.

Cristy  38:45

Yeah. And it’s literally 30 seconds of pleasure. And it’s just a whole host of heartache, Anki and metabolic problems if you continue. And I know you say I’ve just screwed up so many times so many times. Look, we’re not judging you. It’s just like Gee, oh, forgiveness, God doesn’t say to you, you know what I forgiven you for this 47 times I’m done. It’s never like that you can be forgiven over and over and over and over and I’m not trying to compare us to Jesus. I’m just saying that we’re not judging you. Come back I mean, in the words of Mark Twain quitting smoking is easy. I’ve done it 1000 times we get that we understand that you’re going around but the cheating is never worth it. It really isn’t and you can always come back and that’s why we don’t allow we don’t allow cheating on code right? We know we both had been there we know the detriment and it’s just not worth it. Let’s get this weight off and then I’ll teach you how to keep the weight off and still have what you want

Cari  39:39

one last thing Cristy cuz I know we’re wrapping up is that if you are not sure why you emotionally eat, it’s important to kind of get on top of that you need to understand your triggers. I know mine very well. I know I’m Trust me. I know what I want. And I know when I want it. Y’all I don’t wake up in the morning be like this morning. It’s always the evening morning. Carrie is wonderful. She’s in shape. She looks great. Her makeup is on her hair isn’t the point. Okay, that’s a lie for those of you that watch my Instagram stories, but it’s nighttime Carrie that’s like, well, I went to the gym, we’re looking pretty good. Maybe it’s time to just have myself a handful of peanuts before bed. No one’s not. No, it’s not carry. So I get it, Christie produce an amazing video digital learning series called what’s eating you. And it’s amazing, I want you to consider getting it at some point, just think about it, it will help you identify what your triggers are. And I have to tell you that that’s going to cut back on your cheating quite a bit if you know, I’m going to stop there and get gas. And those Swedish Fish are right next to the place where I pay. So I’m going to close my eyes and I’m in the credit card, or I’m gonna pay outside and then I’m just gonna get back in my car. Just knowing what your triggers are is huge. So what’s eating you? If you go to Code Red lifestyle.com look under programs. You’ll see it there. Yeah, there’s a good one is a Digital Learning Series five videos, and Carrie helped our dad who’s an lcpc create this. And when I was watching it to approve it for sale, I learned a lot about myself. It’s really, it’s really important that you get control of your emotional eating. And you know what triggers you? Carrie knows hers. I know mine, but I didn’t know it until I watched that course. In fact, I didn’t study before we did the course Cristy. And it was so organic, because during the course I was like, Oh, I do that. And I should have probably reviewed the notes. All the responses you see on my face during the course are completely organic. Just so you guys know I’m not faking it all I actually was learning while dad and I were recording. very authentic. The best place to get started in this lifestyle is a 10 pound takedown challenge. We have them every month so if you miss last challenge, you can always get the one that’s coming up. And we’d love to have you on take down comm I’ll link it up below. And don’t wait. Don’t wait. Because there’s always going to be a birthday and anniversary a cruise a graduation there’s always going to be a mark a party, there’s always going to be a reason for you to cheat so get a hold of this now Let’s lose your weight once and for all so you never go around this mountain again. This is the proper human diet. This is not me Code Red. I had a hater that said to me your code red should be banned. What from what is it steak and asparagus. I mean what it would it’s real food, water and sleep guys. It’s not. It’s not a diet pill or a shake or some sort of a process chemical packaged food is real food. So it’s what we were created to eat as human species. So go to that 10 pound take down calm and thank you for joining us on rebel weight loss and lifestyle. Carry. Thank you for being here with me you. Thank you. Thank you, and we’ll see you next time. Hmm.
