Boy, that emotionally “heavy” feeling of hopelessness is the worst, isn’t it?
It feels like anchors around are heaped over your chest and back, and tied to both arms and both legs.
It’s such a “heavy” emotional feeling that sometimes you don’t even care that you don’t care.
A lot of people who’ve battled their weight end up feeling this deep hopelessness about ever getting and keeping their weight off.
If that’s how you’re feeling as you read this, here are some things that might help.
First, let’s help you feel better than you do now. Then we’ll look at how you can feel more hopeful about your weight loss, and get on track with it.
First up: Feeling better than you do now. Here are some ideas to help with that. You can use something else that works better for you; or choose one of these that resonates.
Pick ONE of them – the one that’ll be easiest for you to act on – and do it the instant you finish reading this.
The purpose of these ideas is to help you feel emotionally “lighter.” I’m not expecting you to go from rock bottom to the top of the world or anything. The point is just to feel BETTER than you do now.
Dig deep and find that one little spark to get yourself into action, okay? I know you feel emotionally “heavy,” but you can do this!
Comeback Option 1: If it’s sunny out, and you’re physically able, put on your shoes and go for a walk. Movement and sunshine are both good for the soul.
Comeback Option 2: Do a social media post or DM in a supportive place, and ask for prayers (or good thoughts if you aren’t spiritual). Just knowing other people are thinking of you really helps.
Comeback Option 3: If you like animals, either cuddle with the ones in your house, or watch some videos online.
Comeback Option 4: Watch cute videos of your kids or grandkids (or play with them if they’re around).
Comeback Option 5: Leave positive comments on a few friends’ social media posts.
Comeback Option 6: Talk to a supportive friend – ideally one who knows you’re amazing and is happy to help you see it when you don’t see it for yourself. (Or heck, talk to several supportive friends!)
Comeback Option 7: Sketch or paint. Even if you don’t see yourself as artistic and it’s just random scribbles, that’s okay. You’re not trying to win some sixth grade poster contest! “Free-form” scribbling and painting are really good for elevating your mood.
Comeback Option 8: Listen to uplifting music. If you’re not in the mood for that, make it an audiobook, a podcast, or even a show.
Comeback Option 9: Go to sleep. A good night’s sleep helps with just about EVERYTHING, including hopelessness.
Comeback Option 10: Watch, read, or listen to something funny. It’s okay to have FUN! When you’re feeling this far down in the dumps, fun is a great antidote!
Now, as for feeling hopeless about your weight in general, first, make sure you elevate your mood a little bit, using one of the strategies above (or something else that works for you that is NOT a form of self-sabotage).
Then, I want you to click on the “Success Stories” category on my website (or the Success Stories topic in the Code Red network if you’ve created your free account there), and look at the success stories of people who’re succeeding with Code Red.
Almost all of them have failed at weight loss for decades, and SO many had given up or were close to it.
And yet, there they are, making it happen cap’n with the Code Red Lifestyle™.
As you look at their stories, be INSPIRED. (If you find yourself comparing, stop, elevate your mood, and try again when you’re feeling better.)
Tens of thousands of people who were SURE they would be “fat forever” have lost weight and kept it off with Code Red.
Look at the success stories. Listen to my podcast (www.CodeRedLifestyle.com/Podcast). Watch my YouTube videos (codered.tv).
There IS hope for you, even if you feel hopeless and don’t believe in yourself.
You may not yet believe in you yet, but I believe in you.
Lean on my belief, and in the belief of the Code Red Rebel community. We know exactly how you’re feeling, because we’ve all been there, and we’ve got you!
