Weight regain is not a life sentence

Getting to Boise from Miami last week was complete. And total. Torture.

I originally booked Mom and I on a direct flight.

Well, that didn’t happen.

Our flight got canceled. Our new flight got delayed.

There was ice on the runway.

Another plane blocked our path.

Your girl here doesn’t believe in checking bags, but this time I checked ONE…

And big surprise, it didn’t arrive with our flight.

🤦‍♀️

The point is that while all this was going on I had every reason in the book to go face down in a pizza.

I was tired (up at 3 AM), I was stressed about our flights, and everything was going wrong.

But here’s the thing.

It turned out okay.

We finally DID make it to Miami (at midnight) and in one piece.

My checked bag showed up about forty-five minutes later on a different flight.

And over the weekend I presented at Lance Wallnau’s Health & Wellness Summit.

When life throws us curveballs, it’s easy to get so caught up in the struggles of the moment that you forget the moment will eventually pass.

If you cope by going off the rails with food, you’re gonna have another “bag of bullcrap” to deal with when the dust settles (which it always does).

And look, if you only ever did that once in a while – say once every two months (or whatever) – then it probably wouldn’t lead to weight regain.

Especially if you got right back on track the same day.

Nobody gains their weight back (or gets fat in the first place) by eating one pizza one time.

It’s making choices like that on a regular basis that leads to weight regain…little by little, pound by pound, until you’re “suddenly” up fifty pounds and you aren’t sure how it happened.

Listen, the majority of people who’ve lost weight have regained some (or all) of it at some point.

It’s not just you.

And you CAN turn it around.

I know because I’ve done it.

I know because I’ve seen it. (There are Rebels in my maintenance coaching group right now who regained weight, left the group, got their weight back off, and got re-approved for maintenance.)

Weight regain is NOT a life sentence.

You can eat real food, drink water, sleep, and follow a few simple rules to lose weight whether it’s your first time regaining it or the hundredth time.
