Tomorrow’s decisions are made the night before

“Tomorrow’s decisions are made the night before.” It’s a mantra I teach my Code Red Rebels. It means you can save time and eliminate stress with a bit of pre-planning.

When someone buys a custom program from me, I teach them about easy, portable foods that fit into their purse or vehicle jockey box. I don’t want my clients getting caught without Code Red-approved food on hand and ending up face down in a bag of Oreos.

I also teach meal prep. An hour of meal prep one day a week saves twice that amount DURING the week, plus all the stress of scrambling around figuring out what to cook.

Life sucks the willpower right out of you. Stress, unplanned emergencies, arguments, work, people needing stuff from you, constant interruptions from cellphones and other devices – all of it drains you. So do emotional hang-ups.

Our willpower is finite. Some people seem like they have more, but the truth is, they just manage it better.

Making decisions the night before SAVES willpower. It’s why I’m a big believer in to do lists. I enjoy the little endorphin rush I get when I cross something off mine.

Take 5 or 10 minutes to sit down, uninterrupted, and plan out your tomorrow. It’s an incredible feeling to get up in the morning knowing what you’ll get done that day. Try it. You’ll see what I mean.
