You’re probably at risk for this sneaky type of self-sabotage

I’ve talked to you a lot about the diet mentality.

How we define it on the Code Red Lifestyle™ is: Making a temporary change to lose the weight, before returning to the same foods and habits that got you fat and sick in the first place.

From a logical perspective, it makes ZERO sense.

And it’s exactly why diets don’t work to keep the weight off you.

One of the most destructive things diets have done to us as people is take advantage of our conditioning that “there’s an end.”

This conditioning is rampant in our society. TV shows end. Books end. Movies end.

There are finish lines. The end of the road. The end of our lives, our jobs, our relationships. Everywhere we look, it seems like there’s something ending (in many cases, whether we want it to or not).

So it’s not a surprise that we see our weight loss journey as having an end.

But after coaching tens of thousands of people from all over the world, including thousands who’ve entered maintenance, here’s what I’ve learned.

One thing the people who’re keeping their weight off have in common is, they realize that getting AND keeping their weight off really is a journey.

Their goal now is to simply enjoy their lives with a healthy body, and not be so obsessed with weight loss.

That’s not to say they stop getting on the scale. Daily weigh-ins help them stay accountable.

But they’ve embraced a long, healthy lifestyle as an integral part of their lives, instead of getting hyper-focused on some “ending” that’s never gonna happen.

Don’t let the idea that there’s not some bullcrap “ending” cause you to feel hopeless, because doing that means you’re still living for a fantasy that’s led you on a wild goose chase filled with yo-yo diets, pain, obesity, self-loathing, and misery.

Instead, embrace the idea of an amazing new lifestyle where you get to feel better than you have in years, enjoy energy through the roof, be the parent, grandparent, or partner you really wanna be, and eat rich, delicious real food, drink water, and sleep to get and stay healthy.

When can do that, you’ll be glad there’s no end!
