Practice makes perfect…but only when you practice the right thing

Here’s the funny thing about practice.

We think of it as something you make a conscious effort to do, like learn the guitar, knit, or train for a marathon.

But the truth is, you are always practicing SOMETHING, even when it’s passive.

If you’re obese and metabolically sick, you’ve got a lot of practice with what doesn’t work to keep the weight off and reclaim your health.

If your marriage is on the rocks, you’ve got a lot of practice in what doesn’t work to create and sustain a successful marriage.

If you hate your job yet are too scared to look for something better, you’ve got a lot of practice in staying stuck in fear and misery.

See what I mean? You may not be intending to practice those “skills,” but you still are.

Imagine what you could accomplish if you practice what works to get you what you want (instead of what you don’t)?
