Why I don’t agree with “when you know better, you do better”

You’ve probably heard the mindset phrase that goes, “when you know better, you do better.”

I get what people who throw it around mean, but most of the time they aren’t using it in the correct context.

And when you hear it out of context, it can actually result in you feeling badly about yourself, and like there’s something wrong with you.

See, no one automatically does better just because they know better.

If they did, we wouldn’t have people who cheat on their spouses or embezzle money.

And we wouldn’t have people who inhale their body weight in junk food even though they know it’s not good for them.

So when does knowing better allow you to do better?
