Instead of making another New Year’s Resolution, do this instead

As we wrap up another year and head into a new one, I wanna challenge you not to just blindly make a bunch of New Year’s Resolutions you’re gonna abandon two weeks into the new year.

If that kind of thing worked, millions of people wouldn’t fail at their “new year, new you” goal every year.

What I recommend instead is this:

1) Take stock of where you’re ending this year in terms of your weight and health goals.

Are you exactly where you thought you’d be?

Are you worse off?

Are things BETTER than you planned?

Are things better in some ways or the same or worse in others?

Get clear on where you are NOW (without judging yourself – be objective).

2) Next, decide where you wanna be by the end of 2025.

Do you wanna be 100 pounds down?

Have your weight off and be maintaining?

Whatever it is, get clear on where you wanna be.

And make sure it’s realistic (meaning, you’re probably not gonna safely and sustainably lose 300 pounds in 12 months), but be careful not to let fear of failure or anything like that cause you to settle for something ridiculously easy.

For example, “I want to lose one pound in 12 months and keep it off” is too easy. You can lose one pound after a good poop. Pick something that’ll challenge you a little but also feels doable.

3) Lastly, reverse engineer the steps between where you are now and where you wanna be.

So let’s say you wanna lose 100 pounds in 12 months, which is very doable with Code Red.

What needs to happen between now and December 31, 2025, for you to hit that goal?

What’s the average MONTHLY weight loss you need?

What mindsets will you need?

What routines and habits will you need to implement (or that you’re already using) to get you there?

Will you need VIP Connection to give you the support and accountability (as well as a personalized nutrition program) to get you there?

Get clear on what you’ll need to get there.

And for crying out loud, be HONEST with yourself.

If “doing it all on your own” ain’t working now, it ain’t gonna work just because the year ends with a 5 instead of a 4, okay?

Bottom line: Going into a goal without clarity on how to make it happen cap’n won’t work.

You need a plan.

“I wanna lose weight this year!” is not a plan. It’s a wish.

So get clear, get your plan, and get going!
