How to permanently stop self-sabotage

If you’re not moving steadily in the direction of your goals, whether it’s to lose your weight, start a business, learn a skill–whatever it is–odds are you’re sabotaging yourself somehow.

Self-sabotage is one of the top reasons we never reach our goals. Any time we place limitations on ourselves out of fear, doubt, self-hatred, or desire for comfort, we’re self-sabotaging.

This includes me. For years I was unknowingly sabotaging myself with emotional eating. Only after until I watched the “What’s Eating You?” online course and learned I was coping with anxiety by binge eating, did I realize what was going on. (The course helped me identify my triggers, and what to do about them.)

Self-sabotage isn’t usually limited to one area of your life…meaning if you’re sabotaging yourself in one area, you’re probably doing it in others.

It might be relationships, career advancement, or even something as simple as your own happiness.

Desire for comfort is one of THE biggest reasons I see people self-sabotage.

The problem is, any kind of change, even positive change, includes some discomfort.

Self-hatred is another reason people self-sabotage. My first business coach, for example, used food to punish herself for not being able to have kids naturally.

Another example is a Rebel named Shastina, who had a near-death experience, and afterwards, while she was recovering in the hospital, overheard two nurses talking about how fat she was. After that, she used food to punish herself for surviving that near-death experience.

Fear of something is a HUGE reason for self-sabotage, too.

Fear of change, fear of failure, fear of judgment – anything where the reason behind the reason is fear.

Whatever your reasons are for self-sabotage, figuring out what’s going on helps you figure out what to do about it.

And while, early in your Code Red journey, I teach you to focus on the problem at hand vs. hyper-analyze yourself, figuring out the root cause of your self-sabotage is gonna be necessary for you you at some point if you want to lose all your weight and keep it off…and if you wanna stop sabotaging yourself in other areas of your life.
