One of the top three biggest lies in weight loss is that you HAVE to exercise to lose weight. If you can’t exercise due to poor health, it’s impossible for you to lose weight. That’s what you’re lead to believe.
But I’m here to tell you that exercise is NOT a way to address a weight problem.
If it were true that you “have” to exercise to lose weight, we would not see fat athletes…yet fat athletes are everywhere!
Weight loss is not about “moving more.”
Weight loss is 100% nutrition, which means you do not “have” to exercise.
To be clear, I’m not condemning exercise. It’s important to move our bodies, and exercise has a million benefits.
But you CANNOT out-train your fork!
And I’ve got some math for you to prove it.
When I go on a run, I burn a little over 300 calories, but let’s just say 300 to keep the math simple.
Since there are 3,500 calories in ONE pound of fat, that means I’d have to go on 11-plus runs just to burn off ONE pound!
Three hundred calories is nothing. It’s 3 ounces of cheese. It’s less than four tablespoons of peanut butter.
The math doesn’t add up!
In 2021, I hiked Rim to Rim in the Grand Canyon. It’s a 24-mile hike, and according to my heart rate monitor, I burned 3,500 calories.
That means, according to the “calories in, calories out” bridge, someone with 100 pounds to lose would have to hike Rim to Rim one hundred times to lose 100 pounds!
Have you got time for that? Are you even in-shape enough to do it?
Exercise is great, but it is NOT a way to address a weight problem.
If your body is already in a state of major stress–like it probably is if you’re obese and battling a bunch of health problems–then exercise may actually make things worse…because exercise puts stress on the body.
If you wanna lose weight without exercise – and do it without gimmicks or surgery – you have ONE option:
Your nutrition.
Eat the right foods in the right amounts.
Remove the ones inflaming your body and causing it to store fat.
That is what we do on the Code Red Lifestyle™. We don’t worry about exercise in weight loss mode.
Instead, we focus on eating foods that promote weight loss, and we avoid foods that don’t (or that just slow or stall weight loss in most people).
Bottom line: to lose weight without exercise, you either resort to a bullcrap gimmick, resort to mutilating weight loss surgery, or eat the right foods while avoiding foods that store fat (or slow down/stall weight loss).
