Recently, I called a Rebel whose husband died.
It’s not something I typically do, but this Rebel has been with me a long time.
She also hadn’t been active in the Code Red community in a while, and I was worried about her…
And not just because she lost her husband.
See, when people go dark in the community, it’s almost always a symptom of weight regain.
Sometimes when people are regaining weight, they stay connected, but lie or omit.
With other people, they simply go dark.
There’s the shame of not wanting to “get caught.”
There’s the shame around thinking that you know better so you should be able to do better.
There’s also shame around failing, AGAIN, to keep your weight off.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…
How to lose weight isn’t the problem.
How to permanently keep it off, instead of re-gaining it, is the problem we’ve gotta solve.
That’s why I talk about weight re-gain a lot.
That’s why I created a maintenance roadmap.
That’s why I’ve hosted a workshop called how to keep the weight off.
It’s why I hosted another workshop called Back In The Ring on Saturday, to teach people how to get past the weight regain.
Weight re-gain is one of those things people want to know about…but also kinda don’t, because of all the shame attached to it.
If that sounds like you, the bottom line is this…
If you’ve lost weight before, ever in your life, even pre-Code Red, you can do it again.
Hiding out does absolutely NOTHING for you.
I know it feels like it’s keeping you safe somehow, but that’s just the illusion of safety.
It’s not “safe” to be obese and sick. It’s dangerous.
And while feeling “caught” because you’ve regained weight may feel emotionally dangerous, ain’t nobody gonna die from emotional discomfort…
Whereas the obesity and disease you’re navigating are factual threats to your life.
Stop hiding from the weight regain. Step back into the light.
Shame is not your friend here. It’s a lie keeping you trapped in a 24/7 prison that’s with you wherever you go.
Break free by TAKING YOUR LIFE BACK.
