In Code Red Nation, We Are All The Same

The diet industry has us believing a pack of lies when it comes to fast, safe weight loss.

And they conveniently leave disease and freedom from pain – both of which can be treated, and often healed, by nutrition – out of the equation.

Those reasons, and many others, are why I don’t believe in diets, and why I don’t teach people weight loss by “dieting.”

But some people still view the Code Red Lifestyle as a “diet.”

Most just don’t know any better, because they don’t know enough about the lifestyle to understand the difference between Code Red and a “diet.”

“Diets” are are a temporary change you make in the hope of losing weight, before going back to the foods and habits that got you fat and sick in the first place.

You jump off and on “diets” like a trampoline.

When life gets hard, meh, I’ll abandon my “diet” and pig out, then wake up feeling ashamed, and return to the “diet” for a while…until something else comes along…

This vicious, self-esteem-killing cycle repeats. And then you give up entirely until the next fad comes rolling in…and it starts all over again.

I call that “on and off” mindset – and the fads the prey upon it – the diet mentality.

“Diets” have failure built in, because people who create them want you to keep buying their products.

They design it so that if you do stop eating their packaged food, counting points, or taking their pill, you gain your weight back.

It’s a confusing, carefully crafted system, and it’s no wonder people are confused and don’t know where to turn.

Maybe you’re still trapped in the diet mentality; or maybe you’re not, but you know plenty of people who are.
