Are you overthinking this?

Recently I came across a post in one of my Facebook groups that made one thing clear:

The lady who posted it was overthinking the program.

This happens most often in the 10 Pound Takedown, where, even the rules and foods lists couldn’t be simpler, people still find a way to dream up all kinds of questions that aren’t relevant to following the program successfully.

One the one hand, I get it. They wanna make sure they’re doing it right.

Plus some people really need a lot of information (or believe they do) in order to feel comfortable enough to take action.

It’s not that I have a problem with questions.

What I have a problem with is hiding behind them instead of stepping up and taking action.

See, there comes a point when all the information gathering just cripples you.

It becomes an excuse to procrastinate.

It becomes a way to cope with your discomfort about uncertainties you can’t possibly do anything about until you actually do the thing you’re asking questions about.

Often it leads straight into overwhelm, because it complicates something that’s not complicated.

I’m not saying don’t ask questions.

What I’m saying is, don’t believe the myth that “more information” is the key to your success.

Doing what works, consistently, is the key to your success.

And it doesn’t require knowing every minuscule detail there is to know.

When it comes to Code Red, here’s what works:

– Eat meat, vegetables, nuts, eggs, seeds, seafood, and dietary fat
– Include a fat, a protein, and a veggie at every meal
– Drink enough water
– Get adequate sleep
– Get on the scale every day
– Don’t snack or otherwise eat between meals
– Listen to your body
– Get the junk food outta your house

If you’ve gotten away from those basics, get back to them, because yes, it really is that simple.
