Is this the missing piece?

Accountability is a very foreign concept to a lot of people, especially if they aren’t yet tired of their own bullcrap; or they don’t believe in themselves.

But we’re ALL accountable to someone, starting with ourselves.

For a small percentage of people in this world, that’s enough.

But for most of us, accountability to people and things outside our own heads is needed for us to get the best possible results in whatever it is we want to accomplish, including losing our weight and keeping it off.

The support of like-minded people is important, but it can’t only be people who tell you want you want to hear instead of what you need to hear.

You’ve also gotta have people around who aren’t gonna let you accept your own bullcrap excuses.

Obviously I’m not talking verbal abuse.

But someone who really wants you to succeed isn’t gonna sit there and let you justify your excuses without saying anything.

I’m a hard-working, motivated person, yet even I benefit from accountability.

So why does accountability work so well?

Because most people care what other people think, and it influences a lot of our decisions.

Human beings are wired for survival, and for most of our history, our best chance of survival included being part of a group.

That means, if you got kicked out and had to make your away alone, you were dead meat.

That same survival instinct is still very hard-wired into our brains.

Whether we like it or not, most of us care what people think.

So it makes sense to surround yourself with people whose opinions and support bring out the BEST in you.

And it’s why the 10 Pound Takedown includes access to a private Facebook group, where you can get support and accountability.

Same deal with the groups run by my Code Red Certified Coaches.

Don’t shy away from accountability. Yeah, it can be uncomfortable when you’re used to avoiding it, or when you don’t believe in yourself.

But remember, it’s not ALL about calling you out!

It’s also about praise and encouragement when you do well, and a lot of people are super motivated by that. Positive feedback is a form of accountability, too!
