Buying processed and/or “fast food” because you think it’s cheaper? Check THIS out.

Last year, a Rebel in the Code Red network shared what made her realize her eating was out of control.

While dog-sitting at someone else’s house, she raided their cupboards and ate two whole canisters of their high-end toffee candies.

Afterward, she felt so horrible about eating SO much of someone else’s candy that she went to a candy store to replace the canisters.

And get this.

Replacing that candy cost her a whopping $140!

😳

I bring it up because a lot of people insist that healthy eating is expensive.

And yeah, I guess it can be, depending on how you go about it.

But as this Rebel’s experience shows us, UNhealthy eating isn’t as cheap as you think.

When you’re paying $140 for candy, $35-$40 bucks a pop for ONE person for DoorDash (which can be hundreds per week if you make a habit of it), and buying mountains of soda, sweets, and junk, eating crap food costs you a ton of money.

And not just the money you spend on the food itself.

You also spend money on medications, hospital visits, and medical procedures you need as a result of eating in a way that wreaks havoc on your health.

As for healthy eating being expensive, you can easily make a filling Code Red meal for as little as $5 a person when you keep it simple with a meat, a fat, and a veggie.

Here’s how I like to think of it.

You can spend the money on healthy food, or spend it on hospital visits and medication.

I know which one I’d rather spend my money on.

If you struggle with overeating or reaching for the crap, and your sleep isn’t very good, that is the first thing you need to fix, and here’s why…

When you aren’t getting enough sleep, your body amps up your appetite and sugar cravings. It also amplifies stress levels (which may lead to the urge to stress eat).

You can eat the healthiest foods on the planet and do everything else right.

But if your sleep is off, you will be hungrier, you will crave sweets, and it will be harder to manage your stress.

Step one is to get your sleeping under control with good sleep hygiene, a healthy diet that makes it easier to sleep, and a sleep environment that is conducive to good sleep.

When your sleep is consistently good, it’s easier to manage your appetite, and sugar cravings may stop altogether.

Sleep is the #1 rule in weight loss, but also the #1 rule in good health. Get that sleep!
