We’re told change is a long, drawn-out process…but does it ALWAYS have to be?

You see this? These are MY NAILS!

MY
OWN
NAILS

Let me explain: ever since I was very little, I have always been a nail biter. The habit was so severe that I didn’t even know I was doing it until I would look down and see bloody, sore fingers.

I hated my hands, fingers and nails. So at the age of 16, I saved my money and got acrylic tips (fake nails) and never looked back, because when the fake nails were on, I didn’t bite my nails and I felt pretty.

That was 30 years ago.

This summer (2022), I decided to stop seeing my nail tech of 13 years and took my tips off.

My bare, ugly nails stared at me and that nasty habit started to return. Once again, I hated my hands. But I was determined to NOT bite my nails and let them grow this time.

One month later, my nails are growing on their own and I haven’t once tried to bite them. No, I didn’t use gross polish or hypnosis. I just made up my mind to change and that was it.

This isn’t about nasty habits or pretty hands. This is about your determination to change whatever you hate about yourself

Change is always treated as some long, drawn-out process.

Some forms of change do take a while. You didn’t pack the weight on overnight, and you’re not gonna lose it overnight, either.

But other forms of change can be as simple as deciding to STOP once and for all.

STOP drinking the soda.

STOP buying the brownies.

STOP smoking. (I personally know people who just stopped one day, and never smoked again.)

Whether or not the change you wanna make is something that can change in an instant, or it is gonna take more time, your first step is the same…

Make up your mind and go.
