When somebody buys a custom nutrition program with Code Red, they fill out a comprehensive questionnaire to help me get to know them.
One of the questions on this questionnaire is, “Why do you think you have a weight problem?”
A lot of people answer this question with some version of mindset.
My thought when I read that reason is usually, “Really? So it has nothing to do with the crap you’re shoving in your mouth?”
We all know mindset’s important. I talk about it all the time.
But there still comes a point where hyper-analyzing your mindset is just spinning your wheels.
It becomes just another excuse – another crutch – you lean on to explain why you aren’t DOING the simple things that will get you the results you say you want.
The program works when you work the program.
So instead of asking, “What’s wrong with me? Why do I do these things? Why can’t I ________?” try this:
Follow the program.
Get on the scale every morning. Drink your water. Sleep. Get the sugar out of your house.
Fill your water bottles the night before and set alarms on your phone to remind you to drink them.
Throw the sugar in the outside garbage can or give it to a nieghbor.
Get the pets and kids off the bed, turn off your device, de-clutter your room, and get in bed earlier.
“But Cristy, I don’t feel like doing those things!”
You will once you start. It’s the starting to do it you don’t like.
Once you’re doing it, and momentum’s building, and the results start coming, you’ll want to do it. It’ll get easier.
Stop overthinking the rules to consistent weight loss, stop overthinking the program, and start following it. You know what to do. Get to doing it!
