Whenever a new 10 Pound Takedown starts, the mindsets of people who join can be in drastically different places.
On one end of the spectrum are the people who are sick and miserable and obese, and feel like the challenge is their very last hope.
For them, it’s do or die (maybe literally!).
On the extreme other end of the spectrum are people who come in with the full intention of going back to their old bullcrap ways the instant the challenge ends. They see the 10 Pound Takedown as just another “quick fix.”
People with this mindset often give themselves away doing things like posting a picture of a donut with a caption that says, “I can’t wait to get back to eating this! Yum yum!”
And by saying things like, “When I can I eat pizza again??” or saying stuff like, “I know we’re not supposed to cheat…but if we do, what’s the best way?”
Posts like that get taken down the instant my team or I see them. I don’t tolerate that crap, because it’s got diet mentality written all over it.
I define “dieting” as making a temporary change to lose your weight, before returning to the same foods and habits that caused your weight problem in the first place.
If you want to keep your weight off, you ain’t ever going back to your old ways.
Does it mean you can “never” have pizza again?
No, it doesn’t.
It does mean that if you choose to eat pizza, you do it strategically. (When our Rebels reach goal weight, my Coaches and I teach them how to reintroduce foods, if they even still want to.)
But going back to gorging on however much junk food you want, whenever you want it?
Those days are behind you if you want that weight to finally stay off.
I get that this is uncomfortable to hear. It’s definitely not the sunshine, rainbows, and unicorn farts version of weight loss you’re used to being fed by the diet industry.
Reaching your goal weight is an AMAZING thing, and if you’re there, you should be very proud of yourself. I’m sure proud of you!
Not only did you put in the time and effort to make it happen cap’n, you took a giant step toward healing from the deeper issues your weight represents.
To help you feel more confidence in your ability to keep the weight off (whether or not you’re at goal weight as you’re reading this), I put together a video for you, about the mindset of maintaining your weight loss. Click the image below to watch it.
