I’m tired of being judged for how I look

A lady who signed up for one of my programs wrote that she’s tired of being judged for how she looks.

I get what she’s saying, and I think most people have felt that way multiple times in their life.

Even so, when I read that, you know what I realized?

That how you look doesn’t stop people from judging you. Considering I’ve had a mohawk for five years, I should know!

Fat or thin, you’ll be judged.

Tall or short, you’ll be judged.

Old or young, you’ll be judged.

If you go around trying to avoid being judged, you’ll live a pretty stale, unhappy life.

The answer, here, isn’t to avoid judgment. It’s to do what makes YOU happy, without concern for whether other people judge you.

I’m not talking about being insensitive and walking all over others. What I mean is that avoiding activities or clothes or other things that make you happy just because you’re worried what others will think makes for a pretty bland life.

I have a mohawk because it makes me happy. Total strangers walk up to me all the time and tell me, “I love your hair.”

I also have total strangers give me dirty looks because of my mohawk.

In both cases, I’m being judged. The people who like my mohawk judge me as cool (or whatever it is they think about me).

The people who don’t like my mohawk judge me for other reasons.

I’m not saying you “should” get a mohawk and dye it red (or whatever color it is when you read this). I’m saying if you want to, go for it.

Same with your weight. If you’re TRULY happy being obese (not just pretending to be when really you’re deeply ashamed and miserable), then stay obese.

If you’re NOT happy and you know it, and freedom from all the problems and pain your weight’s causing you would make you happy, then do something about it.

I’m not saying weight loss is a magic pill. It’ll ripple, in a positive way, into other areas of your life, but it’s not a quick fix. (No such thing.)

What I mean is that if you’re tired of how your weight and all the problems it causes are interfering with your ability to live the life you want, it’s time to TAKE YOUR LIFE BACK.

Start with the 10 Pound Takedown. It’s 30 days. Plenty of time to get results, but a short enough amount of time that you can dive in without feeling overwhelmed.
