How to stop yo-yo dieting

Thanks to diet industry marketing, most of us have been conditioned to believe that the key to putting an end to yo-yo dieting is to find the NEXT magic “diet,” try it, and cross our fingers that this time will be different.

Since a new fad diet’s coming out every time you turn around, there’s no shortage of baloney floating around to keep the brainwashing firmly in place.

It’s also why most people who come to Code Red have tried all the mainstream diets.

Weight Watchers. Atkins. Paleo. Keto. Cabbage soup. Ideal Protein. Nutri-system. Lemon and cayenne pepper. You name it.

The thing nobody talks about (except me), and that a lot of people don’t want to hear is, ending the yo-you diet cycle requires saying no to “diets” and embracing a new lifestyle.

Shake powders aren’t a lifestyle. Counting points isn’t a lifestyle. Wearing a bullcrap patch isn’t a lifestyle. Mail-order frankenfood isn’t a lifestyle.

Real food, water, and sleep, on the other hand, are things ANYONE can do for life.

“Diets” will ALWAYS fail you, because that’s what they’re designed to do.

They prey on our human fascination with quick fixes that we mistakenly believe will get us the result without putting in the work.

Plus, a weight problem is a symptom of a deeper problem, and points, pills, and powders don’t address that.

Yo-yo dieting ends when you make the decision to embrace a new lifestyle with new habits and choices.
