Foods that stall your weight loss

So why is it, on the Code Red Lifestyle™, we eliminate sugar and most carbohydrates (except veggies)?

Is it because we hate carbs?

Is it because we think carbs and sugar are “bad?”

Heck no!

It’s because carbs and sugar not only cause inflammation (which leads to disease as well as weight gain), they spike insulin.

So why is this a problem?

After all, insulin’s an important hormone. It tells the cells to open up and receive nutrients from the food you eat.

It also brings your blood sugar down after you eat, so you don’t die.

But another thing that happens when your blood sugar goes up and insulin is released to bring it back down is, your body shuts down its fat-burning hormones.

Plus, another part of insulin’s job is to store energy…in the form of fat.

That means, if you’re eating foods that spike your blood sugar, and in so doing, also spike a lot of insulin, you’re preventing your body from burning the stored fat it already has.

Not only that, you’re inadvertently telling your body to store more fat.

So if insulin is present, you cannot lose weight.

That’s exactly why, on the Code Red Lifestyle™, we take you off foods that trigger a bunch of insulin. (All foods trigger a little. But Code Red-approved foods trigger only a small amount, so your body will have to dip into its own fat stores for energy, and when that happens you’ll lose weight.)

“But Cristy, it sounds like you’re saying all my ‘favorite foods’ trigger a lot of insulin!”

That’s exactly what I’m saying.

And processed foods are THE worst for this. Why?

Because companies that manufacture them can add whatever bullcrap ingredients they want…including loads of sugar and chemicals that trigger your brain’s pleasure center and keep you coming back for more.

I know, it’s not the easiest thing to hear.

But still I’m gonna empower you with the truth, so you know exactly what you’re getting yourself into when you choose processed junk food over real, whole food.
