Can you lose weight without counting calories?

I get why you might dread the idea of counting calories. It seems restrictive and like a lot of extra work. Some people refuse to even TRY counting calories.

I can’t speak for other programs, but when it comes to the Code Red Lifestyle™, yes, there are people who lose all their weight without counting calories. It can be done.

AND, for the most part, it takes a lot longer than it does for people who get a customized Home Study program.

On a Home Study program with Code Red, you not only get weight loss numbers (calories, water, macros) customized to you, I also teach you how to track those numbers with a tracking app (because custom numbers are pointless if you aren’t hitting them, and tracking is the only way to know whether you’re hitting them).

Tracking your food to make sure you hit your numbers involves paying attention to your calories.

Some Rebels track their food without a Home Study program. They don’t know which numbers they need to hit, but they do see how much food they’re actually eating, which can be pretty eye-opening and lead to better choices.

That’s because what gets measured gets managed.

On Code Red, we weigh ourselves every day (even if you’re not on a Home Study program), because daily weigh-ins give us immediate feedback on whether our choices the day before led to weight loss, weight gain, or our weight staying the same.

Without daily weigh-ins, you have no idea which choice(s) affected your weight one way or the other.

Even if you weigh once a week, that’s still a week’s worth of food and choices to weed through.

And how about grabbing a tape measure and taking your measurements? That can motivate you when it seems like the scale isn’t cooperating, because when weight comes off your body, it doesn’t always show up on the scale the same day it comes off.

The point is, tracking gives you hard data to work with. It’s evidence that progress is happening, and/or provides a deeper level of control on how fast your weight comes off.

You can only control that to a point, but you can give yourself MORE control by tracking your food intake, which includes your calories. This is especially true when you get a custom Home Study program, and match your food and water intake to your custom numbers.

So, SHOULD you track your food (including counting your calories)?

Based on my almost 30 years of experience in this industry, yes, if you want faster weight loss, because again, what gets measured gets managed.

Do you HAVE to in order to lose weight on Code Red?

No, you don’t. Eat real food, drink water, sleep, and listen to your body, and like thousands of Rebels who don’t track their food intake (including calories), and it is possible to lose weight on the Code Red Lifestyle™.
