What feels better than the food tastes?

Check out this cool share from a Code Red Ringside Rebel on a live “chit chat” with me:

“Last year I got a medium long sleeve Code Red t-shirt because they were out of the xtra large. I put it on yesterday and it fit. I was at my son’s house on Sunday and he said he had to look twice because he didn’t recognize me!”

I love it – the one time it’s good when your own family doesn’t recognize you! 😂

Here’s another one:

“NSV: I used to have a ton of mucus, gravelly voice in the mornings, sinuses, etc. I don’t now. Even when I get a massage, I don’t get all stuffed up anymore when I’m face down. Amazing to be able to breathe during a massage.”

As someone who gets a lot of massages, I agree, haha!

When people join Code Red, a lot of them don’t believe me when I say that weight loss ends up dropping down the list of what you love about TAKING YOUR LIFE BACK.

Getting to surprise people who don’t recognize you because you’ve lost so much weight…

Getting to shock your doctor with how much better your blood sugars are…

Getting to surprise your husband when he comes back from overseas deployment…

Getting to hear your grandkids say, “I can put my arms all the way around you now, Grandma!”…

It. Feels. AWESOME.

Eating food probably feels pretty awesome, too, doesn’t it?

And since eating is something you can do anytime you want, predictably, with very little effort, it can be hard to delay that gratification long enough to experience these other awesome things that happen as you take your life back.

Fortunately, the deepest parts of your mind – the ones that form habits and beliefs – don’t know the difference between imagination and reality.

So here’s what you can do to help your mind start caring about these other awesome things you want as much as (or more than) it cares about eating food to feel good.

Make a list of the results you want from losing weight. The sky’s the limit!

Once you’ve got your list, close your eyes and mentally pretend those things are happening.

Do this regularly, and your mind will start believing it’s really happening.

As it does, you’ll start naturally wanting those results more than you want your old ways (like eating to feel better), and it will get easier to stay on track.
