“Cristy, how many times will you talk about weight re-gain?”
Someone asked me that recently.
The short answer?
As many times as it takes.
See, people process things differently.
They also live lives and have experiences that change their perception and influence what they MOST need to hear in any given moment, based on where they are in their life.
Seriously, think about yourself and how you’re different than you used to be.
What have you heard that didn’t really click the first time you heard it, but you heard it again days, weeks, months, maybe even years later, and it was exactly what you needed?
THAT is why I talk about weight regain over and over…
Because what I said about it in the past may not have clicked for someone, but when I repeat it, or talk about it from a new perspective, it does.
Besides, even though you may have seen or “heard” me talk about weight re-gain before…
If you’re still struggling with it, you probably need to hear it again…
Because THIS could be the time it clicks.
THIS could be the time the penny drops in.
THIS mention could be what finally gets you BEYOND weight re-gain for good.
Worst case scenario, hearing about how to handle weight regain again plants seeds that ensure, down the road, something else I say about how to stop weight regain finally clicks.
The whole “Hollywood secret” mindset has us believing that hearing one thing one time is “the answer,” and if it doesn’t click the first time you hear it, it’s not THE thing.
But that’s not how the human brain actually works.
The human brain needs repetition for stuff to sink in and become automatic.
If it didn’t, you’d only EVER have to do something one time to master it, or hear or see it one time to remember it inside and out.
Heck, can you think of one single time in your life where you did something ONCE and went from beginner to master overnight?
Yeah. Me neither.
So if you’re still struggling with weight regain, the answer isn’t to tune out because you think you “already know what to do.”
The answer is to lean IN and immerse yourself in everything you can about stopping the weight regain (or bouncing back if you do regain weight)…
Because by doing that, you’re giving your brain what it needs to help you succeed: repetition.
