Is Code Red really “too simple to work?”

Most of my Coaches and I flew to Jackson Hole, WY late this spring to run in a half-marathon. (Remember: We’re in maintenance. Exercise is not a way to address a weight problem.)

The trip was my first time flying to the Jackson Hole airport. It’s a small but beautiful airport.

After I deplaned and raced to the restroom (of course, haha), I found the rental car counters…and right away I noticed that the rental car company I booked with wasn’t there.

I walked up to one that was there and asked about mine…

And it turns out the company I booked with wasn’t even on airport property. We had to take a shuttle to get there!

Oh man. Not what I was expecting, and had I known, I would have booked with a different company.

Two of my Coaches, Andrea and Lisa, were on the same flight into Wyoming as me, so we walked to the shuttle and loaded up.

When the shuttle driver didn’t get behind the wheel, I tactfully asked him, “Are you waiting for something?”

“Yeah, I just need to make sure there are no more people,” he confirmed.

“How long is the drive?” I asked.

“About fifteen minutes,” he replied.

Sheesh. We weren’t in a big rush, but again, it wasn’t what I was expecting.

About fifteen minutes later, a well-dressed Hispanic lady with two huge suitcases joined us on the shuttle.

We waited another five minutes, and then the guy finally got behind the wheel and drove us into town, to a small building with two more rental car counters (including the company I needed to get us our van).

It was a pretty weird setup, but finally we had our van.

Before we could take the van, the rental car agent had me inspect it, so I wouldn’t get penalized for blemishes someone else had made, and then it was time to load up and head out.

My Coaches and I took turns trying to get the van’s hatchback-style trunk door open. We found the button to open it, but nothing happened when we pushed it. There were no buttons anywhere in the front, either.

Finally, I went and got the rental car agent. He came out, felt around…

And lifted the door right up.

Turns out the door had opened when we pushed the unlock button, but it didn’t make a clicking sound or pop up a little like we expected, so none of us thought it worked.

🤦‍♀️

It just goes to show that what you expect isn’t always what happens…

And in the case of the hatchback, it also goes to show that what’s simple isn’t always what’s obvious.

Take real food, water, and sleep.

SOOOOOO simple.

And once your eyes are opened, it IS obvious.

But before that?

It either doesn’t occur to you, or it sounds “too good to be true” (even though it’s what our ancestors did for millennia).

If Code Red sounds “too simple to work,” you’re free to dismiss it and pay an arm and a leg for Ozempic shots (speaking of something that’s too good to be true…).

But before you do…or even if you already have…I invite you to do it the Code Red way and see for yourself.

Get your copy of my new book, Rebel For Life, at www.coderedlifestyle.com/rebelforlife and follow what it says…

And like a hatchback that silently unlocks (instead of clicking), you’ll see that simple works just as well (if not better than) complicated!
