Like a lot of weight loss products on the market, Ozempic promises a way to lose weight with minimal effort.
Take a shot, see the scale drop.
Our brains LOVE the path of least resistance (it’s a survival mechanism), and the weight loss industry is always on the hunt for ways to tap into that part of our brains to sell us stuff to get the weight off…even if the long-term effects are unclear or dangerous.
And again, we love the path of least resistance, so anything that sounds easy is gonna appeal to us.
Combine that with desperate people who’ve “tried everything,” and you’ve got a potential powder keg.
People who’ve been around the block a time or two are realizing that something so easy MAY be too good to be true.
Take real food, water, and sleep, like I teach on Code Red.
Our bodies have been thriving on real food, water, and sleep for centuries.
Yet there are still people who read that and think, “it can’t be THAT easy”…
Only to turn around and pay $1,000 for a shot or $450 for a bunch of magic powders.
Sometimes the answer IS simple.
In fact, simple is what works a lot of the time.
The thing you’ve gotta remember is that SIMPLE doesn’t always mean EASY.
It’s simple to eat real food, drink water, and sleep.
But it’s not always easy to do that.
That’s why you should be skeptical if something sounds “SO easy.”
Odds are, there’s a flip side they don’t want you to know…or don’t want you to care about.
With Ozempic, can it help you drop weight?
Probably.
Will it TEACH you to keep the weight off?
Nope.
If you keep taking it, then at best, it MIGHT, for a while, force your body not to regain weight.
But it’s a shot. It can’t teach you about health and it can’t teach you about keeping off the weight you lose.
Make no mistake: if you take the shot but don’t address any of the reasons you gained weight in the first place, you will gain it back.
And when you do, it will be 100% fat, because a 40-50% of the weight you lose on Ozempic is muscle tissue.
A BIT of muscle loss often accompanies weight loss even if you work out and eat right.
But you lose SO much more muscle when you don’t eat right and you take a shot that tricks your body into feeling full.
If you’re desperate to lose weight, there are other ways besides a shot.
Please keep that in mind before you do it; and for SURE keep it in mind if you DO get the shot.
One of my clients had this to say when I asked her what she’d say to people considering Ozempic for weight loss:
“I see friends and family who use Ozempic. It is not a healthy life change solution. It is very expensive to use, then they stop and their weight comes back on. Some have even said they feel sick while using Ozempic. Ozempic does not teach you how to get healthy only a tool to lose weight. I have never felt better since starting code red. I have been diabetic for many years. When i started code red i was using 75 units of insulin a day. For 2 years I have been insulin free!!! I am healthy and strong! I am not at goal but I am maintaining! I am 73 and CODE RED gave me my life back!!! Take the 30 day challenge for your self it is inexpensive and will give you tools for life!”
This lady got her insulin down and her weight down WITHOUT Ozempic. And she is maintaining (even though she still has more she wants to lose, she’s learned, on Code Red, how to stay at the same weight vs. gain it all back).
Ozempic may seem like an answer to prayers. For people who are super duper sick, weigh 500+ pounds, and are headed to an early grave, MAYBE it’s a temporary life-saving measure. MAYBE.
But for the rest of us?
We can get there with real food, water, and sleep.
Whether you do that with Code Red, or with another program, go all-in before you let someone inject you with drugs that come with scary side effects and, most importantly of all, do NOTHING to equip you to stay healthy and KEEP the weight off.
Come join us in the Code Red network! We’ve got communities, tons of videos, podcasts, articles, motivation, tips, programs, meal ideas, and more! It’s free to join, and you can join in either of these two ways:
