Read this eyebrow-raiser shared by one of my Rebels earlier this year (2025):
“So a year ago May I had my 45th annual exam and I had been living the CR lifestyle for 5 months. My doctor loved my labs, my weight loss, and how my body was healing up from surgery. Her only concern was that my cholesterol levels had gone up by 1 point…. 1 point, but in the excellent range. She asked about my diet and when I told her what I eat she said maybe eliminate the HWC from my coffee.
“I literally sat there stunned and then I said, ‘No I’m not going to eliminate that. You just told me that my labs were excellent. My weight loss was fantastic and my body seems to be healing very well. You also told me that my cholesterol was in the excellent range but up 1 point while my blood sugar had dropped. Why should I change what I put in my coffee?’ At that moment, she answered ‘Good point I guess don’t change a thing.’
“Seeing the doctor yearly, I would recommend, but advocating for yourself is something that I will always strongly suggest. Question when they want to put you on pharmaceuticals. This is what they were trained to do and there is also money that follows this approach. It doesn’t mean it’s the best option, but I would never tell somebody what to take or not to take because I’m not a doctor.”
I’m SO glad this Rebel advocated for herself.
In today’s medical climate, doing that is an absolute must, especially when you’re dealing with a traditionally trained physician.
Most of them mean well, but they’re trained to prescribe drugs, not eliminate the root cause of why you need the drugs.
Prescription drugs have a place, yes.
And I’m not a doctor either, so do your own research and make the decision that’s right for you.
Just be careful about blindly agreeing to pop whatever expensive pill you’re told to pop.
Remember: Your doctor is a partner in your wellness, not your own personal medical Hitler.
Code Red is your partner in your wellness, too, though in a different way from a medical doctor.
We teach you about losing weight and taking your life back with real food, water, and sleep, which – unlike gimmicks – can (and should) be done for life.
We also know that true health is about ALL of you, not just blood test results.
Gimmicks completely miss this mark, too.
Shots, pills, and weight loss surgery don’t get to the root cause of why you gained weight in the first place.
When I say root cause, I’m not talking about “eating too much.” I’m talking about what fueled you to eat too much. There’s stuff under the surface that, until it’s solved, will continue messing with you.
On Code Red, we get that there’s more to the story.
It’s why we offer things like the 21-Day Identity Shift, workshops on stopping self-sabotage, and experiences like the Code Red Retreat.
It’s to help you nurture ALL of you…because SO much you’re more than a blood test. Remember that, okay?
