If you think you can’t stay on track in the middle of scary or traumatic events, read what a Rebel who was hit by hurricanes Helene and Milton did:
“I listened to Cristys pod cast about leaning in to the program during hard times and it really helped this week.
“I live in the Tampa Bay area and had back to back dangerous Hurricanes directly effect my home. Although damage was not severe as many it was extremely scary to go through hours and hours of high winds in the dark with no power or internet until tonight. Gas is next to impossible to find.
“My mom’s house had power today and I was blessed to be able to go to her home. My sister and I went to a store to get some groceries and we made a big pot of code red approved chili and salad fixings. Everyone loved it and I felt a bit of control in my out of control life.
“If you haven’t heard the podcast it’s worth a listen. I may not make the full 10 pounds down but it could so easily have been a comfort food free for all. I appreciate all of you. I am not only Florida Strong but Rebel Strong too.”
Isn’t that inspiring?
It’s also a pretty powerful reminder that staying on track isn’t something you only do if life is “perfect.”
Staying on track is just a DECISION.
And listen, I know it can be both a hard decision to make and a hard decision to stick to.
But as this Rebel illustrates, when your mind is made up, you freaking find a way.
As she said, she could have easily turned to comfort food.
Instead, she made an AMAZING choice to find and prepare Code Red-approved options (including for her family, who loved what she made).
I hope you’ll take her story as inspiration and encouragement that yes, you CAN stay on track when life ain’t perfect…
Because it’s NEVER “perfect.” There’s always something, isn’t there?
Something else I hope you’ll take away from her story is that you’re stronger when you’ve got support.
The whole “I should be able to do this on my own” mentality keeps a lot of people enslaved to their old ways.
Yes, you have a part to play in your success…
And NO, you don’t have to do it ALL on your own!
