I’ll lose weight when __________

My family traveled from other states to California to honor the life of Mom’s brother, Kenny (my uncle).

It’s too bad that it takes a death in the family to bring us all together.

It’s been 25+ years since I’ve seen most of them. And even with social media connections, I hardly recognized anyone.

But our hearts were full, and we all moved onto a new chapter as time marched on.

Funerals have a way of reminding you that you don’t have all the time in the world.

Nothing lasts forever.

Things change.

Of course, we all think (and hope) we have more time than we probably do.

It’s not fun to think about. I get that.

But it’s all the more reason to hit the gas on your weight loss NOW, holidays or no holidays.

Plenty of people started Code Red smack in the middle of the holiday season, and they did it for one simple reason:

They wanted the weight gone enough to start NOW.

I bet if you asked them, “Do you regret starting weight loss in the middle of the holidays,” the vast majority would tell you, “Heck no. I’m glad I started when I did.”

No one regrets starting their weight loss journey.

But PLENTY regret not starting it or waiting to start it.

That’s pretty telling.

In the Bible, while God was sending the plagues of Egypt, Moses asked Pharaoh when he wanted God to get rid of the frogs.

Pharaoh said, “tomorrow.”

That always killed me.

WHY spend one more night with the frogs?

Why not get rid of them now?

Or, in the case of weight loss, why spend one more night fat, sick, and miserable when you can do something about your weight starting NOW?
