What GLP use and bad dog behavior have in common

I recently dogsat for a friend for almost a week, and let me tell ya…

The dog was sweet in some ways and meant well, but she had a TON of bad behavior.

– She isn’t house-trained, so would just squat and pee wherever. She even pooped on one of my nice rugs!

– She whined ALL the time, and her whine was really high-pitched and ear-piercing.

– She had no recall, so if I let her out (even accidentally), she would bolt, and it was hard to get her to come back.

It was all super frustrating.

But I don’t blame her for her bad behavior.

She’s a dog, and she doesn’t know what she doesn’t know.

Dogs aren’t equipped to live in a human world unless you train and guide them every step of the way.

Her owner didn’t care about training her. He was willing to live with her bad behavior.

In a way, this dog reminds me of most people who use a GLP (like semaglutide) for weight loss.

Most don’t know what they don’t know.

And just like a dog can get itself into a lot of trouble by not understanding how to navigate a human world…

People who take GLPs without the right training and guidance risk permanently hurting themselves.

Plus, they’re just gonna regain the weight (again). I’ve seen weight regain happen while people are still ON a GLP, because GLPs are not a quick fix. They’re a tool, like anything else.

Like any tool, there’s a way to use them and a way to misuse them.

A scalpel in the hands of a surgeon can save lifes.

A scalpel in the hands of a serial killer can end lives.

Same deal with a GLP.

IF you use it properly, it might save your life and get weight off you.

If you don’t, then long-term problems will outweigh (no pun intended) any short-term benefits.

If you decide to use a GLP, get it from someone who will help you with the dosage (ESPECIALLY adjusting it as needed), stay hydrated, and work with someone on proper nutrition.

Despite what you may think, GLPs aren’t a workaround to eat whatever you want and still lose weight.

Oh, you may still lose weight. But you’ll slowly starve yourself and end up like a walking skeleton IF you use them the wrong way.
