
When you join the Code Red Lifestyle™–or start anything new that some people in your life don’t relate to–it’s pretty common to feel isolated and alone.
Depending on your life in general, you may already feel that way.
Fear of being “alone with your thoughts” once in a while isn’t the kind of alone I’m talking about (and isn’t any healthier).
The kind of alone feeling I’m referring to is when you’re just sitting around feeling lonely and isolated because you’re not getting enough human connection.
During my personal training days in New York City, I often felt isolated and lonely, and it was pretty depressing.
I remember, on New Year’s Eve 2008, I even went for a night out with the girls even though I was flat broke. I even spent my last $20 at the restaurant where we met, all because I was that desperate for human connection.
Studies show that loneliness and isolation lead to depression, and even self-destructive behaviors, like emotional eating.
Plus, in situations where you’re trying to make a positive change (like getting off the weight loss mountain once and for all), existing in your own little world, tucked away from support and encouragement, and alone with all those self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviors trying to suck you back in…it can make it pretty tough to stay motivated.
So what’s the solution?
If you’re a Code Red Rebel in one of my Facebook groups, the first thing I want you to do is participate and engage. Get to know people, and let them get to know you.
Second, meet up with any Rebels who live in your area. Knowing even one person who’s doing Code Red too can make a HUGE difference.
Finally, come to as many official Code Red events as you can!
(I say official because there are people who use my brand to try and sell you products I haven’t endorsed, and that is NOT okay by me. If I endorse something, you’ll hear about it from me.)
Whether it’s a gathering held by my Code Red Certified Coaches, or one of my events, like After Hours With Cristy or Code Red LIVE 2019, make an effort to show up and spend time around your fellow Rebels.
I can’t tell you how many people have felt re-energized, motivated, and uplifted after attending just one in-person Code Red event.
Even if you’re not feeling isolated, come to an event or gathering. Your energy and presence may uplift someone who’s struggling, or inspire someone new to get serious and take their life back.
